Wooo! My first entry in the Copic Marker Norge summer contest got me though to the second round! Ok, that was about a month ago now, but the deadline for the second entry is tomorrow, so I still have time! The requirements were to follow a sketch, and then the dreaded ‘use yellow’. Miss Yellow and I don’t get along, that is why it has taken me a month! That is my excuse and I’m sticking to it!
Ok, admittedly work has gotten in the way on weekdays and on weekends I’ve been busy as well, but still… yellow… definitely not my favourite requirement.
I started out by picking the image I wanted to use. This adorable digital stamp is by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary. I coloured in the yellows last week. That is as far as I got until today. I even had to have an emergency run to the shop before work yesterday to try to get some inspiration. I ended up with yet another shade of yellow copics as well as a few new papers, so the plan worked. I suppose we can have a closeup of the stamp.
The sketch was a fun one. The papers are from Maja Design and Basic Grey. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The border was made with a Martha Stewart puncher. I used yellow ribbon, red glitter glue and made the sentiments myself. I also used some blue distress ink on the sentiments.
Let’s see if I can remember all the copics I used:
Yellows: Y000, Y00, Y04, Y08 and Y17
Blues: B91, B93, B95, B97 and B99 + E00 and E000 for the background
Oranges: YR04 and YR07
Reds: R24, R29 and R89
Hair: E97, E08, E18, E19 and YR00
Skin: E50, E51 and E93 + a white pen
I reckon that’s about it, haha.
This card has been entered into the following challenge:
Copic Marker Norge – Sommerkonkurranse, del 2
Now to cross my fingers that I get through to the next round and that the challenge will last more than two weeks as I’ll be off on holiday from mid next week! Wooo!
