Lovebugs

When I was making this card, I was just having fun with dies and punches really. I have used a Martha Stewart puncher to make the bottom purple flowery shape, a couple of QuicKutz dies and a doily from Papermania to layer it up. The other smaller dies are also by Martha Stewart. The friendship recipe stamp is from Lili of the Valley and the image is by Wee Stamps by Sylvia Zet which I have coloured in with copics. I purchased the pearls at a local shop and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

It has been ages since I entered anything in challenges, so it’s about time, I reckon! This card has been entered into the following challenge:

Crafty Little Fairies – Cute and Cuddly

Wedding in Paris

It’s wedding season, isn’t it? Here is the first of about a handful of cards I have made. I stumbled upon some lovely pre-coloured images by Wild Rose Studio. Aren’t they lovely?!

The paper I used is a lovely rose frame by Pion Design. The leaves and butterflies are made from a Martha Stewart puncher. I used pearls to give the butterflies bodies and also to decorate the top corners of the card and to frame the image. The ribbon is from one of the Christmas flowers from last year, I believe, and all the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I went through the photos I’ve taken of the cards made over this summer and realised I have made quite a few more than I had thought. This means I am miles behind posting them here on the blog, so it’s about time I upped the frequency on putting them up. The recent two-week gap in posting them was due to a holiday, and I hadn’t scheduled any. However, back to work and back to blogging this week.

This first one is inspired by summer. I have used a pre-coloured topper by The Hobby House, a Sylvia Zet image. I distress inked the image around the edge and made an easel card out of it. The flowers, ribbon and bow are all by Wild Orchid Crafts. The sea shells were bought in a shop called Black Design and the leaves were made with a Martha Stewart puncher.

My boyfriend’s mom’s birthday was coming up and he really liked a card I had made just a few days beforehand. You can see it on the right here. So I used that as inspiration and ended up getting a tad carried away with butterflies. I have made butterflies from a Tim Holtz die (the ones on top), stand alone butterflies from a Martha Stewart puncher and embedded butterflies on the side. The tiny butterflies that got cut out with the third die were also put on here and there around the card: some of them even on the flowers.

The main image is a pre-coloured one from Lili of the Valley.  I used a doily from Wild Orchid Crafts and put it mostly behind the image to break up the green a bit.  The two different patterned purple papers are by Papermania, whereas the green one is by First Edition Paper. I have used ribbon from a local shop and from Wild Orchid Crafts. The flowers are also all from WOC. Lastly I used a Martha Stewart puncher for the leaves and an alphabet set to create two of each letter (one green and one purple) to make them stand out more.
