Red, black and white

Recently I’ve made quite a few cards with the coloured die cut images from Lily of the Valley. First out is the most recent one I made (this morning in fact) and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Let’s take a closer look.

The die cut sheets come with 6 coloured images, often different images. I decided to order some this summer with Christmas illustrations as I have a lot of Christmas cards to make and nowhere near enough time to colour images for all of them! As I am completely incapable of only purchasing what I am looking for, I ended up with a couple of different sheets as well. This particular one is from the sheet called Fun Time Teddies. You can find them all here.

I used black card for the outline and folded it over. I cheated and used a small strip underneath, glued to both sides, so it will stand up properly even on slippery surfaces. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have used paper from Bo Bonny. The leaves are actually made from a Martha Stewart snowflake punch on green card. I think it works pretty well anyway. The sentiments are my own and mean “Happy Birthday” and “It’s your birthday“. It is not as daft as it sounds because “Happy Birthday” in Norwegian is directly translated as “Congratulations on the day“. And that concludes today’s Norwegian lesson, haha. Let’s finish off with a photo side on.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

Lili’s Little Fairies – Anything but square
Allsorts – Anything but square
Dies to Die for – Anything goes
