Mermaid; photo inspiration challenge

It’s the middle of May already! How did that happen?! hmm.. Oh well, it does mean it’s time for another challenge at Copic Marker Norge, and this time we have a photo inspiration challenge.

This is the card I made. I decided on a mermaid to represent the ocean and then I tried to mostly stick to the colours used on the inspirational photo. The image I used is by Ching-Chou Kuik and one of the very first mermaids I’ve ever coloured! Various other bits are by Papermania, Wild Orchid Crafts and Martha Stewart. The image is obviously coloured with Copics.

Here is another view of the card:

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, R20, R22, (blue-green) BG05, B000, BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, G29, (pink) R39, R81, R83, R85, R89, (leaves) YG01, YG67, YG99, (background) R81, RV000, B000, B81

Monochromatic

It is right in the middle of Easter and it is time for a new challenge over at Copic Marker Norge. This time around the theme may be a bit more challenging, it is monochromatic. I think it was fun, though, although I cannot recall if I have ever tried to colour in black and white before.. maybe once? hmm. The only problem I’ve had is when I’ve coloured it in, it’s hard to take a photo that will show all the nuances in the colouring, but hey can’t win them all..

The image I’ve used for this is by Make It Crafty. I’ve cropped the girl so it’s possible to see the details when coloured with only a few markers. I’ve used Copics, as always. The paper is from Papermania, sentiment from Lili of the Valley, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the punchers are Martha Stewart ones.

And a side on view.

Copics used: W0, W1, W2, W3, W5, W7, 100

Star Dancer

A new challenge up on Copic Marker Norge for this month, with the theme of Anything Goes.

I have coloured up an image by Aurora Wings, it’s called Star Dancer and is full of little fiddly things to colour. It was quite fun, actually! I used my trusted copics for this and added some distress ink around the edge and some frantage. Oh, and of course, a touch of glitter to a couple of parts of the outfit.

The flowers are mostly from Wild Orchid Crafts. I’ve got some bits and bobs from the now sadly closed down Live and Love Crafts. Various dies from Memory Box, Noor Design and QuicKutz.

Another photo won’t hurt.

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, (hair) E08, E18, E19, E49, E97, (outfit) G40, G82, G94, G99, YG03 and a white pen.

Baby girl in buggy

I seem to very rarely get to make baby cards for baby girl; it’s always boys, boys and more boys. Then suddenly I got asked to do two almost at the same time. As with the other card I’ve chosen to hide the name of the baby.

The image I’ve used on this is by Wee Stamps. Isn’t it cute? I’m quite happy with the shading on it and tried to keep it soft and simple. I made a border around the image using flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, some cheese close and punched out some leaves and butterflies with Martha Stewart punchers.

Here is another photo of the card laying down

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, (hair) E53, E55, E57, E59, (buggy) RV00, R81, R83, R85, R89, W0, W1, W3, W5, W7, 100, (bird) B000, B81, Y00, Y04, Y17

Owl you

Guess what I did at the weekend! I finally took the first two out of the series to become a copic colouring master. The course was held at Bikuben with Elizabeth as our fantastic instructor. It was fun to get some new tips and see some of her colouring in person. She’s great, really! Cannot wait for the next two courses in May where there more advanced techniques that I know little to nothing about.

Today we have a new challenge over at the Copic Marker Norge blog. This time we’re playing bingo! If you count the flowers and feathers on the image itself then I’ve covered all the squares of the bingo card giving me a full house. Yey!

The papers I’ve used are Pion, the sentiment Lili of the Valley, the image (which is obviously coloured with copics) is by Ching-Chou Kuik. I am so happy with how that turned out. One of my favourites, actually, I think. Not often I am this happy with an image the first time I colour it! Oh, the cute little butterflies are from Noor Design.

Copics used are: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, R20, R22, (hair) E53, E555, E57, (flowers) R81, R85, RV17, R89, G82, G99, YG03, (owl) W2, W3, W5, E55, E57, (background) B0000, B000, B00, B02
