Magnolia ballerina

It’s been a while since I made a card with my magnolia stamps, so I thought I’d make one. Opted for a green and purple combination.

And the Copic colours I used? I honestly don’t remember, but it looks like it could be my usual skin colours, the E70-series for the hair, the V10-series for the purple, the C for the white and I’m sure there were various YGs for the green.

James the bear is watching the snow fall

Here you can see the second Christmas card I made for March. This means I am still on track for two a month this year, phew! Barely made it with this one as well. I guess I will try to do better in April and start a bit earlier.  At least, I still had snow when I made this.. not sure I will manage to make anything once tempratures start realising summer is only a couple of months away! Oh well, I’ll try!

I went with a Lili of the Valley bear. This is possibly my very favourite bear and I love his different poses. His name is James, by the way, if you didn’t know. Lili of the Valley was one of the first stamp brands I started using, and even though they have stopped selling their rubber stamps, I still have mine from when I first got them in 2011! I’m glad they’re still doing digital stamps, as they’re great!

I’ve used Noor Design and Maja Design paper, a bit of acrylic paint and cheesecloth as well as Baker’s Twine, a Kort og Godt charm and some candi. Those are all high on my list of things I like to use to make Christmas cards.

Here is another photo where the card is laying down flat:

A bit of turquoise

We have a new challenge up at Copic Marker Norge and this is my inspirational card for it. On the moodboard for this month I was inspired by the colours: turquoise and white with a hint of yellow, as well the decorations and flowers. The image I chose for this is by Ching-Chou Kuik. I do love getting to make a card using my favourite colours!

I’ve used papers by Maja Design and Bazzill, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a stamp from Noor Design to create the effect around the image which I used distress oxide ink on, a Happy Birthday stamp from My Favorite Things, and a border die from La-La Land Crafts.

Here you can see the card from a side on view. There are several elements put on foam pads to create a sense of dimension.

Blue floral ballerina

A very special co-worker of mine had her 60th birthday quite recently, so I wanted to make her a special card. She loves blue, and knitting, so they were two of the things I wanted to include. I also wanted to colour up something fiddly as I knew she would appreciate it. The stamp I decided to use is one of my favourites at Aurora Wings. It’s so pretty! Everything is coloured up with Copics and then I stamped a Noor Design flourish in pale blue around the edges of the image.

The papers are by Papirdesign, the charm by (probably) Kort og Godt, the flowers by Live and Love Crafts as well as Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaf dies and the scalloped circle are both from La-La Land Crafts. As the final touches I added some cheese cloth, transparent water drops and candi which I coloured in a matching blue.

Here you can see the card viewed from the side.

Magnolia – Christmas gift

I think I might be crazy. For some reason I decided to take part in a mini challenge where I am to make two Christmas cards each month this year. When Christmas finally comes around I guess I’ll have a mini mountain of cards I can send out, though…

At the start of the year I bought a few Magnolia stamps. I have even coloured up a fair few of them already! I decided to use this on one of the cards for January. I kept is really quite simple, with a reasonably plain Noor Design background paper, a Make It Crafty chipboard and a few candi on the side.
