I was definitely running out of ideas by the time I got to the third masculine card in a row. My dad’s birthday was earlier this month, so a card was in order. As it was my dad, a silly card would be quite appropriate.

Pink with a hint of summer
I had to make another birthday card before Christmas as well. It was for a lady celebrating her 50th birthday, so I wanted to make a handmade card for her as I feel they are so much nicer to get, especially on a special occasion like that. As it was only a couple of days until Christmas I didn’t sit forever pondering what to do, I simply decided to follow the theme from the birthday card I’d made the night before.
Autumn
While searching for a tool to make tiny circles with I got somewhat side tracked and ended up purchasing not one, not two, but three floral punches! I’ve been looking at getting some since I started with scrapping, so as soon as the order arrived I started punching out flowers aimlessly. Today I’ve finally had a bit more time, and got some random inspiration to make a card. Last week I was on two smaller hiking trips and loved the colours surrounding me. That is where I’ve gotten the inspiration for this card.
Feeling completely zombied this morning I started colouring a stamp image, one of my favourite motives. The mouse on a daisy, a Tina Wenke image by Stampavie. Once that was done the rest went very quickly. I picked yellows and greens for the paper and added some orange with the punched flowers. Of course I had to use punched flowers on the first card!
I tried to get the inside to match the front somewhat, and I am really pleased with how the whole card turned out. This time I even remembered to take the photo before writing on it!
It’s nearly a month and a half since I made the last (and first!) cards and I am surprised how easy it was to make this. Although, I am certain that purchasing the cutter, which cuts both straight and scalloped edges helped immensely!
Birthday card
Autumn brings plenty of birthdays on my other half’s side of the family, so it is mostly them I have been making cards for thus far. The aim for this specific card was simple, but sweet. Pink then being the obvious choice of colour went well with my favourite of cream shades. (You will soon see I have a knack of using cream-like shades in most of my cards)
I was merely playing around when I made this, only using all the scrapping material laying about me on the table as inspiration. Although, I am certain various cards I have looked at during the weeks before making this had an impact also. The stamp I used here is by Tina Wenke, Mouse on Daisy, from Stampavie.
There is some design inside the card where the greeting is, but not enough that I felt it necessary to add a photo of it.
