Talkative Tracy

Yesterday was Friday, the first this month. That means Art by Mi Ran’s facebook group has started its new progressive challenge! This month we are playing with Talkative Tracy. As usual the progressive challenge works as follows: You purchase the image for this month’s challenge (unless you participated in October) and make a project with it which you enter into the challenge album. Once you have participated you will recieve next month’s image for free upon request and this carries on until you choose to not enter one month, at which point you have to purchase the next image to join in again. Anybody can join in at any time. It is great to see the variety of projects created using the same image! If you’d rather not participate then you can simply wait a month and purchase the image in Mi Ran’s shop.

I actually used various scrap paper I had laying around for this card and painted the edges with acrylic paint. I used Martha Stewart punches and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers along with Mi Ran‘s gorgeous image which I coloured in with copics.

Hello Mr. Snowman

My holiday is half way through! What would be more fitting than a card filled with snow, eh? I mean, it couldn’t be further away from the weather atm in Australia. It is time for a new Art by Mi Ran‘s Facebook group’s Anything Goes challenge, with bling as the optional theme. I was going to opt out of the bling part, but I changed my mind at the end. I used Mi Ran‘s gorgeous Hello, Mr. Snowman for this.

As usual I have coloured it in with copics. On the sky background I coloured it in with blue and painted over with white acrylic paint, just for fun! I used the paint around the edges on all of the backgrounds as well.

The dies are by Noor Design and Tim Holtz. I also used a Martha Stewart puncher. A few cones and 5 Wild Orchid Crafts roses with a bit of Live and Love Crafts lace made up most of the rest!

Eirwen in the snow

Time for another Mi Ran progressive challenge! The name of this pretty lady is Eirwen. If you want to play along with us, simply go to our Facebook group to see all the details. If you don’t want to, then well, you’ll simply have to wait a month to get a hold of her in Mi Ran’s shop. Who’d want to wait that long, right?!

I took forever to decide which colour to do her dress in! As red was the obvious colour I wanted to pick something else. It was a fight between green and purple, and as you can see: purple won. I coloured it all in with copics.

For this card I decided to go with a lot of dies instead of a lot of flowers! All the dies on the left hand side are by Noor Design, whereas I have used a Tim Holtz snowflake die on the right and a Martha Stewart puncher for the branches. The papers used on this card are by Kaboks and Lili of the Valley. To jazz it up a bit, I’ve pained all the trees and papers with white acrylic paint to make it look like it’s been snowing. I also used white frantage on the image (which is hard to see on the white background in the photo, but it looks look on the actual card. I also added a hint of glitter to all the white puffy bits on the image. I couldn’t leave flowers off completely either, so I used a few from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Christmas morning

I made this card to showcase one of Mi Ran‘s latest images. It is called Christmas Morning. As soon as I saw it I knew exactly how I wanted the card to look! It would fit perfect within a window-like card similar to what Tracy Payne of Noor Design UK did for her vintage card course in Norway earlier this month. So that is what I did!

For the card base I used Go Kreate dies, which I painted with acrylic paint around the edge. The papers are by Panduro and Pion. Everything is coloured in with Copic makers and I used glitter glue for the gold effect on the tree. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the tree and reindeer dies are from Noor Design. The snowflake border is made with a Tim Holtz die and I used lace from KaBoks to make the curtains.

A Christmas card already

Can you believe it? September already?! Goodness me. It does, however, mean it is time for a new progressive challenge over at Mi Ran’s Facebook group! The entries in the last one were great! What you do is you purchase the image and enter in the challenge and then you get the next one given to you! How awesome is that?! You can purchase it next month in Mi Ran’s shop as well if you’d like. I’ve decided to make a Christmas card this month.

I have coloured her in with copics. I have a weak spot for making Christmas cards in blue, so obviously this is no exception, heh. The unusual bit is that I decided to not just combine it with white this time, but also red! Loads of snowflakes is also a must for me. I made mine with Noor Design and Tim Holtz dies! All the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. Peals and glitter and liquid pearls were used as finishing touches.
