MFT Superstar – CAS

Another one of the challenges for this year’s My Favorite Things Superstar is to make a clean and simple card. I actually made a couple today as I had a few ideas and this is the one I’ve decided to enter with. I’ve used the rubber stamp Fresh Cut Flowers and stamped it with a faint coloured ink. Then I have masked it off and coloured a stipe of it only in mostly greyscale, apart from the leaves which I wanted to remain green. For the sentiment I’ve used a text stamp from the Ewe Are the Best set and the you part of the miss you die which I’ve coloured up to match the rest.

Copics used: G21, G40, G94, N0, N1, N3, N5, N7 + black multiliner 0.3

MFT Superstar – coloring

It is that time of the year again where MFT Stamps is hosting its Superstar contest. There are three categories and it all ends today. As I’ve been ill with some sort of infection most of the week, it has been left until last minute, again. It took forever to decide on what to make, and when I finally did decide I ended up using 5 stamp sets and trying out a new ink to do stamped no-lines for the first time. Oh, and I’ve only tried to stamp up a scene once before and then it was hardly anything on top of one another. Yikes! So, yes, same as always: the less time I have, the more complicated I tend to make things!

These are the stamp sets I used:

Bring Out the Sunshine
Scene Builder
Ewe Are the Best
Adorable Elephants (flowers)
Happy Hedgehogs (text)

LotV Bunnies decorating tree

Here is another card made using the Christmas stamps by Lili of the Valley that was out this summer. This is the image I used to make the colouring video you can find here. The sentiment stamp is also from one of their most recent releases. Opted for making a layered card again.

Birthday boy

The new challenge over at Copic Marker Norge has been running for two weeks now and it’s my turn to show some inspiration for our theme birthday. I decided to colour up this boy by The Greeting Farm as I hardly ever make boy cards I thought I’d surprise with one!

Copics used: (skin) E0000, E00, E02, E13, E15, (hair) E21, E25, E27, E29, (purple) V22, V25, V28, BV29, (blue) B02, B04, B06, B37, (green) G02, G07, G28, (yellow) Y04, Y17, YR09 + white gel pen

Colouring video: LotV Stargazing

I have another colouring video for you today. This time I’ve done a pretty quick one. I wanted to show that it’s not that important to stay within the lines or colour up carefully to get a good result. Scribbling can be a great way to do a sky, for example, and how you can quickly get a snowy effect on your image. By colouring up the image and giving it a background, you have a pretty quick and easy clean and simple card if you do it in a bigger size, and a great image for the centre of the card if you do it a bit smaller. Digital stamps are great that way. I will post the card up in a couple of days.

There is no audio for this video.
