LotV Sweet Peas

It’s raining. A lot. I think it’s trying to make up for all the nice weather we’ve been having. Also, winter is coming. So I’ve made a spring themed card! Bright greens, a dash of darker greens and some pink for this little mouse sleeping with his book. The stamp is called Sweet Peas and can be found here in the Lili of the Valley Etsy shop.

Oh and they’re having 60% off through today, so it is a good day to pop by and pick up some favourites!

I’ve used a sentiment die by Papirdesign and some sequins. The die cut frame has been put in the top left corner of the card base.

RAM Birthday Owls

Today’s simple card is made using Rachelle Anne Miller’s Birthday Owls. I’ve coloured it up in two different shades of purple and orange. The card base and enamel dots match the orange colour. To mix it up a little I’ve made the coloured area finish off at an angle this time.

MFT Coloring virtuoso

My second entry for this years MFT Stamps‘ Superstar contest is for the colouring category. I’ve been unsure if I was going to have the energy for this as I’ve been unwell most of this month so far, the past week and a half with a nasty cold and a cough that simply will neither let go nor let me sleep. Oh how I am looking forward to it disappearing!

Anyway, here I am with my finished project. I had an idea which I think fits with the last year. How some people make a difference and make your life more colourful. So the front is coloured in black and white, the first page inside is the same image, but in colour, and then it’s a normal greeting area inside with the text “You Make Everyday Life Feel Special”. I have combined various sets from the Birdie Brown and Stacey Yacula collections for the scene.

Here is the front of the card. I have used scissors to cut a small tab at the bottom which I embossed a small greeting onto. I’ve also used chunky embossing to create snow on the image.

Here is the flip inside with the coloured image. I’ve added “snow” to this panel as well as another sentiment:

And the page inside with the greeting:

Here are the two coloured panels before I made the card:

I’ve used the following stamp sets:

Adorable Adventures
Always Bring a Smile
Holiday Penguins
Itty Bitty Basics
Merry Wishes
Scene Builder
Warmest Wishes

Copics used: (black and white image) T0, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, T9.

Post update:

Oh my goodness! I am so happy to share that my card was chosen as one of the winners. Thank you so much!

Mo’s With tree

I’m up on the Mo’s DT blog again today and I’ve got a Christmas card to share this time. I’ve used an image that I received as a Patreon for Mo. I’ve been that since about the start and have received loads of fun images. It’s fun getting new ones sent to my mail every month and it’s the only subscription I’ve had to anything craft related! Anyway, back to the card!

I’ve opted for a teal and light brown combination today. The top left corner of the card has gotten a cluster made of die cut scrap paper and a sentiment. The papers are from Maja Design whereas the dies are from Whimsy Stamps, Memory Box and MFT Stamps. I’ve used a sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad.

MFT Clean and simple genius

It’s that time of the year again. My Favorite Things are having their annual card making contest, the Superstar contest. I wasn’t entirely sure if I had the time or energy to take part this time, but after a week of back pain followed by a week with a nasty cold and cough I simply needed something to do! So here I am with my first project. Hopefully there’ll be at least one more.

White on white is quite common, but I wanted something different. So for my sympathy card I’ve gone with black on black. I think it’s the first time I make a proper black card, actually.

I’ve used the Magnolia Blossoms stamp set. This time I embossed it with clear embossing powder onto black card stock before colouring it up with my Prismacolor Pencils. A STAX stitched rectangle die cut and an essential stitched banner die for the embossed text (from the same set as the flowers, the card kit version), both added with foam tape, gave the card a bit more interest and dimension.
