For my sister

This is the birthday card I made for my sister earlier this year. I let her have some requests as such and what she listed was aqua and pink colours, Victoria secret themed and bold.

I instantly regretted asking, but what could I do but try to make something along those lines. I decided on a cute fairy, by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary and coloured it in with copics, and added sparkles and liquid pearls to the wings. I have coloured a couple of images since which is an improvement, but I was quite happy with this when I did colour it in. Everything is a learning curve, right? (I really must get cracking on those colouring classes I bought soon after I coloured this image!) I punched out loads of butterflies using the Tim Holtz die in various aqua and pink papers and used rows of pearls to give them bodies. I used a deep pink, almost red to frame the various elements and punched out S and V, my sisters initials coincidently! I have used flowers and big pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts, the lace I believe I purchased at Bikuben and the ribbon may be the Hobby House.

card250_1Time for another card that’s I’ve made for someone else, based on another card I have made. She was quite fond of a card I had made for another co-worker, for a baby. I suggested we add some blue and make it a bit more masculine, but we had to keep some of the purple as that is her favourite colour. I’m pleased with how I managed to keep it obvious it’s been inspired by the other card, but still make it quite different.

I used a pre-coloured topper by The Hobby House. Craftwork Cards have made the doily. The ribbon, lace and card stock is from a local shop. All the flowers are purchased at Wild Orchid Crafts as well as the big white pearls, and the punches I have used are by Martha Stewart. As you can see, my love of adding butterflies to everything is still quite strong, heh.

Bowl of sweets

Some co-workers requested a card a couple of months ago (yes, I am that far behind on posting cards here now..) for another co-worker. It was to be pink and sweet and lovely. This is what I came up with.

I have used a pre-coloured toppers from Lili of the Valley; from one of their gorgeous coloured pads. Most of the other products are from Wild Orchid Crafts, Martha Stewart and Papermania.

Country cupcake

Almost weekend. I am actually looking forward to tomorrow. Some ladies at work have decided to do a hobby day. It will be interesting to see what they all make, and have some time to sit and craft. I have never been to anything like this, so I am all curious about it!

A colourful image sometimes deserves a colourful card. I had this cupcake themed paper in one of my Papermania pads and the colour matched the image perfectly. I decided to frame it with the pinky-red colour of the image and used a similar colour to frame the image. What I used was actually a cupcake wrapper, or whatever they are called. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the punches by Martha Stewart, the card base from Craftwork Cards and the image from Lili of the Valley.
