Wryn fairy

Did you see the new release over at Tiddly Inks? There are so many cute ones and they have even got a few brand new clear stamps! Yey!

One of my favourites from this new release is the little fairy! The image is called Magical Day. I decided to doodle a bit on this one and gave her a striped top so she looks a little like a bee fairy! I also embossed the wings with gold glitter and white after colouring them yellow to make them sparkle.

It’s not a big surprise anymore than this is yet another CAS card. I made the background with a Tim Holtz stencil, some distress oxide inks and gold embossing powder. The butterfly is also coloured with distress oxide and cut out with a Precious Marieke die. I printed the words “my friend” onto the card base and then embossed a Little Birdie text stamp in white.

Phoenix

It is Friday and time for another progressive challenge at Art by Mi Ran’s Facebook group. Basically you join the group, follow the guidelines to purchase the image and enter in the challenge, then next month when the new challenge is up you get the image given to you as long as you took part the previous month. Great right?! This month we’re playing with Phoenix. If you’d rather not play along, she’ll be available for purchase next month in Art by Mi Ran’s Etsy shop.

I made my card reasonably simple after I had coloured the image in with copics. I used a few dies from Noor Design and had fun with some black gesso.

Spooky Gossmere

Another Tuesday Tiddly Inks card means it is time for a new challenge at Tiddly Inks! As Halloween is around the corner we have the fitting theme of Spooky Dooky. I used Gossmere for my card.

So, I’m on holiday at the moment. I’m all the way down under in Australia! By now I should be in Cairns exploring the Great Barrier Reef and taking a trip into the rain forest! I will make sure I post up some photos once I get back home at the start of November!

You know, it was so much fun colouring this one up that I’ve decided to colour her up in A5 when I get back home! It’s all been coloured with copics and I have drawn in the tree and the bats myself. I have no idea what came over me that made me decide to actually draw, hah! What’s even funnier is that after I coloured it up I took a photo, but the shadows from the window fell over it so I took another. When I looked at them both I really liked the one with the shadows, so I ended up adding them to my image!

I’ve used various bits of paper scraps I had laying about as their colours fit perfectly to this card! I then jazzed it up somewhat by painting around the edges (and then some for extra effect) with black gesso. Finally I used some Noor Design dies to make the birds and tress just make it even spookier!

I absolutely love this card, and I hope you do, too!

Puppy love

Black and white. I love that combination. I haven’t got much black here, but plenty of grey! To jazz it up a little I decided to add a chunk of red! And not a lot else. The red was pretty powerful on its own, I thought. The pre coloured image is by Lili of the Valley. I have the pad with these animals and mostly grey tones. So cute!

Home is where my honey bee

Another monday, another challenge at Paper Playtime. This week we’d like you to ‘use a bee’. My bee is from Pink Petticoat. I could not resist it when I saw the sentiment! The image with its black border is raised a bit using sticky pads. The rhinestones have been in my stash for a year and a half or so, the ribbon is from a local shop and floral border is made with a Martha Stewart Puncher. I then drew a black border around the card with my black copic marker.
