Butterfly princess

It is time for another card for the Mi Ran progressive challenges at their Facebook group. I love this image! It is so very pretty, don’t you think?! I couldn’t wait to get it coloured and I can now finally add my card here! You can get the image from Mi Ran’s Etsy shop. It will be available in the shop next month and is called Rora and Butterfly. If you want it now, just join in the FB challenge!

I am so pleased how it turned out, the colouring, the layout, everything! It is definitely my new favourite Mi Ran image and I am so happy with how it all came together. I used colours I’ve rarely used when colouring, and darker papers than usual, they are from Fab Scraps Paper. I’ve roughened up the edges, added lace from Live and Love Crafts, distresed the edges with green and purple, used Noor Design leaves in green and purple, Martha Stewart butterflies with rows of pearls. Oh and lots of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, obviously.

Mi Ran DT, shabby daisy

I have some exciting news! I was very recently asked to join Art by Mi Ran’s Facebook Design Team, and of course I accepted! It is the first time I have been on a team for an artist, and it is both intimidating and wonderful! I do love her art and I have coloured up a fair few of her images so far. Have a look at her Etsy shop and I’m sure you, too, will find something you love!

Today’s post will feature the very first card I have made as a part of the Design Team. It is for a progressive challenge. The progressive challenge works as follows: You purchase one specific image for the month you wish to start joining in the challenge. The subsequent months you will receive the image for the current challenge as long as you took part in the previous month’s challenge. Everybody uses the same image each month for this particular challenge. This month we are using Delightful Daisy and the challenge will end on 7th May.

I used copics to colour in mine. I decided to give the card a shabby look, using papers from Lili of the Valley, flowers, ribbon and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, distress ink, a papermania doily and stickles glitter glue.

These are the copics I used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, R20, (hair) E08, E18, E19, E29, E97, (dress) BV000, BV00, BV02, BV04, (centre flower) YR07, YR15, Y08.

I have entered into the following challenge:

Copic Marker Norge – Vår/Påske med lyse farger

Picking up the post

My first inspirational post as a design team member for the Hobby House! How exciting! This month the challenge is pretty much ‘whatever’ as long as a Hobby House pre-coloured topper has been used. It doesn’t even have to be a new creation! My creation, however, is new! And I’m quite happy with how it turned out 🙂 . You can find the challenge here.

The paper is from a Papermania pad, the doily from Dovecraft, the three different punches are all Martha Stewart, the sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley and the rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have used a few Hobby House products for this: the open roses in pink and beige, the adorable pre-coloured topper and the pearls.
