Hexagon flowers

Yup, you’re seeing the right thing here. I’m finally back with a new post! I’ve added a few photos to Instagram over the past few months, but not a lot to the blog. That is going to change as I think I will finally have some more time again! First up I have this card I made using a Pinkfresh die to cut apart one of my Altenew colourings. It is the Clematis stamp I’ve used for this. Each hexagon is made up of 4 layers: 3 layers of normal card stock and then this coloured stamp on top.

To finish off the look I added a hello die cut (also Altenew), an embossed sentiment and some pearls (which didn’t photograph well).

OCC – day 1

I have, for the very first time this week, watched a cardmaking video! In fact I have now watched three. This past month I’ve been colouring daily and my days have been super busy so I decided to take some time out for myself and make some cards without coloured images. Online Cardmaking Classes, hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner, have a new course out called Crushing on Cardstock. As a late joiner with very limited time on my hands I have no goal of watching all the videos and trying all the various techniques before the initial period is up. I have however set myself a goal of 5 cards. Today I will show you the first three, they are all part of the first day of lessons.

First up I want to show you the card I made after watching Caly Person’s video. It’s all about paper weaving. I used three different turquoise coloured papers by MFT Stamps and made score lines in them for interest. I then used a Papirdesign die together with an embossed Mathia Design sentiment. Finally I added three butterflies made from La-La Land Crafts dies.

Next up is a card I made after watching Cathy Zielsky’s video. This one is about stripes. I’ve cut the stripes from five different MFT Stamps cardstock and as I don’t have the item she uses to line them up I’ve done it the old fashioned way by gluing them on with foam tape and hoping they line up nicely. It worked better than I feared when I started! The sentiment and enamel dots are by Altenew.

And the final one I have to show you is the first I made, after watching a cardmaking video for the first time. The video was by Kristina Werner. Here it’s all about making patterns with paper strips. I opted for a blue and grey combination using paper from MFT Stamps. The dies used are from La-La Land Crafts and MFT Stamps. The sentiment is made from chipboard which I coloured in to mix and a printed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Girl resting on a wall

I’ve had my first proper go at masking stamps together using this stamp set by hÄnglar & Wings. It is three different stamps: the girl, the wall and the plant. As the stamps together becomes quite a large one, I decided to make it into quite a simple card. Masking isn’t as difficult as it looks, but I’ve never been a huge fan of fussy cutting so I’m glad I can keep the masks to reuse them another time.

Det har blitt satt opp flere fargeleggingskurs hos Hobbykunst utover høsten hvor dette motivet er en av de vi skal fargelegge. Mer informasjon og påmelding finner du hos Hobbykunst her.

Altenew Statement Flowers

Sometimes you simply cannot get a hold of a stamp you want. That is how it was for me with this stamp, Statement Flowers by ALTENEW. I finally got a hold of it this morning and coloured it up while the baby was having a nap. I coloured in the card base to match my colouring (RV93) and used a GinaK/HeroArts sentiment. I stamped the sentiment using Fresh Leaf from the Zesty Limes mini cubes set. The enamel dots are from Altenew as well, from the Green Fields set.

Copics used: (pink) RV91, RV93, RV95, (brown) E70, E71, E74, E77, (lighter green) G40, G21, G24, (darker green) BG90, BG93, BG96

Tiddly Inks Spring Blog Hop

There is a blog hop! Woo! If you’re super quick you can even be apart of the hop! For the first two hours, from now until midnight CET you can add your card to the InLinkz on the Tiddly Inks blog. You will find all the details HERE on the Tiddly Inks blog. There you will find all the other links to the sites that are taking part in the hop, too. It’s being done a little bit different than usual, but now all the links are available in one place so you don’t have to click around the various sites.

Now for my card. I’ve used the new adorable Little Wishes together with the Just for You background stamp from La-La Land Crafts and a chipboard from Make It Crafty.
