I keep walking over to my hobby corner, wishing I could sit down and make a card or two. But as soon as I get there I think of the amount of curriculum I have to get through and keep walking to my desk to force myself through yet another chapter. Hopefully this urge to make cards will last until I have an hour I feel I can spare.
This post contains yet another pair of cards I made about a month ago. As the first pair, they are both green.
Have I mentioned that I love the Lili of the Valley stamps? I have? Oh.. well, I still do! The front images I used for both cards were from Lili of the Valley. For this first card the stamp image is called Skating Along. I’m pretty pleased with how the shading turned out.
For the side border I used a holly patterned paper cut in a thick border to get some extra pattern to the card. I decided on a silver border around the image with some corners matching the initial background of the card to break it up a bit. To top it off I added my usual giant snowflake with a pearl and added a border of the same pearls to the top and bottom of the card.
Inside I decided to keep it relatively simple and stayed with the silver and white colours. The text stamp, as most of the text stamps I use, is from North Star Stamps. Unfortunately I only have black ink for stamping, so the corner stamps had to be done in said colour. I did colour around them slightly, though.
The stamp image used on this second card is called Puppy Post. I think this image is super cute! (Although I had fun colouring this, I felt somewhat limited in the colours I had. I have since purchased another couple of pens to help iron out the difference in shades, which can be seen in the next card I made using this stamp.)
The inside of this one is pretty much the same as the one for the card above. The only difference is the placement of the snowflakes.
