From Paris with love

Here is a card I made a while ago. Well, not a card per se, but close enough! And it sure is about time I get it posted on here! I made it following a tutorial on the Noor Design blog, the UK version. If you wish to have a go yourself, you can find the tutorial here. It was definitely a challenge, and I have not attempted another one again yet, but I am sure I will!

The image is pre-coloured and by Wild Rose Studio. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (as always). The paper (and doily I believe) are by Papermania. The punches are by Martha Stewart, whereas all the border dies and matching butterflies are all by Noor Design. Lastly the sentiment stamp is by Lili of the Valley, and the lace and ribbon from a local shop. I used pearl strings to make bodies for the butterflies, from Kaiser Kraft.

Here are two more photos showing the two sides better.

Here comes the bride

I may not be posting a whole lot yet, but I am certainly back into crafting, mostly colouring! The mojo is back and I have coloured in a few images this month. Here is one of them, and by the end I was surrounded by markers as I never put them back in place until I am done with the image!

Last month I entered in a challenge on Mi Ran’s facebook group and I was chosen to be a Guest Designer for the challenge starting today. What an honour! I love Mi Ran‘s images and it was the perfect excuse to colour up a new one. I chose Princess for my project. Be sure to pop over and enter in the challenge!

The hair is what I am most pleased with. I have no idea how I managed as I haven’t gotten that far into the Kit and Clowder lessons yet. Trying to work with the basic skills after just watching the first couple of videos, and I am well happy how it turned out. I can’t wait to actually get to the lesson that covers this and see how much I did ‘wrong’, haha! It was fun trying to challenge myself before actually doing the class for this type of hair though! I am surprised how pretty it looks, and I am well chuffed! You know a class is great is when you can do just a couple of lessons and then be able to apply the technique to stuff you haven’t gotten to yet!

Anyway, I have used papers from Lili of the Valley, flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts, dies from Memory Box and Noor Design (with a dab of distress ink). On the image itself I have used rhinestones for ear rings, liquid pearls in the hair and down her back, as well as frantage and glitter around the image.

The copics I used are: E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, E44, E47, E49, E50, E53, E55, R20, R81, R83, R89, RV00, RV10, G82, G94, C1, C3, C5, C7, W0, W1, W2, W3, B000, B81, B83 and B85. Can you see how I was surrounded? haha.

Lastly I want to add that I have made myself a new watermark! I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Hopefully it will look just as good on darker cards!

Wedding frogs

One of my friends got married in August and she absolutely loves greens and blues. The colour scheme for the wedding was white, obviously, and a dark teal shade. Her best-friend asked if I could make a card with a box for her to give away. It was to keep with the colour scheme, and if possible include a bride and groom FROG! WTF??!! Oh well, I had to give it a go… I also made a matching card and box from myself, and another matching card from a co-worker, as I thought it would be cool to have it as a set. I will post up the others in a few days!

I knew the exact shade of teal as I’d help pick some stuff, so all I had to do was match it up. She was borrowing my Martha Stewart puncher to make butterflies, so obviously I had to add a lot of butterflies to the card. I bought a pre-coloured digital image and printed it. I’ll update with where I bought it as soon as I get home from my holiday as I cannot remember here and now.. I used ribbon from a local shop. The lace and flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, as are the big pearls. The butterfly border has been made with a Tim Holtz die, and I have them all the dark green shadow and various colours for the wings and added rows of small pearls to create the body.

I used a pre-made box bought at Panduro and decorated it with the same colours, flowers, butterflies and pearls and wrote the name of the bride and groom.

Here is another photo of the card and box together.

I will link up various bits when I get home towards the end of the week.

A blue wedding card

I am back from my holiday and back at work. I spent one week in Rhodes, Greece and it was such a lovely place. I have always wanted to visit Greece and it was worth the wait. Now I just need to go to Athens one day! Beautiful scenery, lots of history and a spot of sunshine… Just my kind of holiday! It was great!

Anyway, back to normal! Here is a wedding card!

It is made with roses and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon from a local shop, lots of punches from Martha Stewart and a pre-coloured image by Wild Rose Studio.

Peaches and greens

Aren’t weddings wonderful? I think so. So here is a wedding card!

This one is made with Pion Papers and an image by Wild Rose Studio, a pre-coloured one. I have made butterflies and leaves with Martha Stewart punchers. The ribbon and big pearls are from The Hobby House and the smallers ones for the body of the butterflies are purchased at Bikuben. Additionally I have (of course) used flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts.
