Jackie’s birthday blog hop!

So, as you may already know, it was Jackie’s birthday yesterday and we’re doing a blog hop! This is the second day out of three which we secretly organised for our DT leader Jackie. SURPRISE!! Hehehe

Happy birthday Jackie! I hope yesterday was a wonderful celebration for you!

birthdaybloghop

Comment on every stop (including the Art by Mi Ran blog) of the hop for your chance to win 5 Art by Mi Ran digital images!

Each blog hop day will have 2 winners. so there are lots of chances to win! Winners will be chosen randomly. You have until July 23rd to comment, and all winners will be announced on the 25th at the Art by Mi Ran blog.

This should be your first step in the blog hop, after the intro on the Art by Mi Ran blog.

For the hop, all team members created a birthday card for Jackie. As usual I am one of the last ones to make my card, so I tried to choose an image no one else had used, which is quite hard when so many have made their cards already! I used Mi Ran’s Lady Penelope for my card.

The hair was lots of fun to colour and I am so pleased how it turned out! I’ve coloured it all in with copics and used liquid pearls for the dotted effect around the image. I’ve used lace by Live and Love Crafts as well as May Arts. The dies are Noor Design and the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. The sentiment I made myself.

Don’t forget there is also a celebration for our FB DT co-ordinator Vannessa whose 40th birthday was yesterday as well! Both on the same day, wow! Look here for more details about that celebration, how to obtain the freebie and the competition in the facebook group!

Thank you all for joining us in these blog hop and competition celebrations! Don’t forget it’s another day of the hop tomorrow, you don’t want to miss it!

Petal blossom

It is that time again! A new Anything Goes challenge on Mi Ran’s Facebook group. I have used Petal Blossom to make my DT card and coloured it in with copics.

I noticed some of the other DT girls had used pink for this one, so I decided to use a different colour combination and ended up doing one I’m not even certain I have tried before! Blue and purple! I do love it though and will be sure to use it to make another card again soon! When I started colouring, I was very usure how her dress would turn out as I’ve not had much luck with folds so far. I am very happy how it turned out, though! Best I’ve done so far I reckon. Hopefully I will finish the skin and hair class at Kit and Clowder soon so that I can start on the clothing one. I’ve never been good at doing things in order, or waiting until I have time for the tutorials, heh.

The papers used on this card is by Lili of the Vally, the flowers and ribbon are Wild Orchid Crafts, I’ve used stickles for the sparkly border and lace from a local yarn shop.

Mi Ran DT, shabby daisy

I have some exciting news! I was very recently asked to join Art by Mi Ran’s Facebook Design Team, and of course I accepted! It is the first time I have been on a team for an artist, and it is both intimidating and wonderful! I do love her art and I have coloured up a fair few of her images so far. Have a look at her Etsy shop and I’m sure you, too, will find something you love!

Today’s post will feature the very first card I have made as a part of the Design Team. It is for a progressive challenge. The progressive challenge works as follows: You purchase one specific image for the month you wish to start joining in the challenge. The subsequent months you will receive the image for the current challenge as long as you took part in the previous month’s challenge. Everybody uses the same image each month for this particular challenge. This month we are using Delightful Daisy and the challenge will end on 7th May.

I used copics to colour in mine. I decided to give the card a shabby look, using papers from Lili of the Valley, flowers, ribbon and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, distress ink, a papermania doily and stickles glitter glue.

Hello there

I am back into card making again and I have coloured up several images ready to be made into cards this week. It is about time I make some more where I use my stamps and colour them in again as I have used a lot of pre coloured ones as of late. They are so easy to use, though, so I figured if I pre-coloured some myself it would help, heh.

This card has been made with Tim Holtz paper, a Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp with distressed edges as well as a Lili of the Valley pre-coloured image. Isn’t it adorable? The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I have also used candi from Craftwork Cards; the card blank is also from there. The branches are made with a Martha Stewart puncher.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

Allsorts – Let’s get cute
One Stop Craft Challenge – Anything goes
Simon says stamp – Anything goes
Bunny Zoe – Anything goes
Bearly-Mine Challenges – Anything goes

Shabby circles

This post is with a card I made a month ago, but I couldn’t post it here as it was for my sister. I had asked if she wanted anything specific and her request was that she wanted something entirely different to everything I had made before, with a vintage feel to it. After a lot of thinking, this is what I came up with. Happy birthday, lil sis.
