Pink and turquoise

1st of May already! That means it’s my turn to contribute with a bit of inspiration for this month’s Moodboard Challenge over at Copic Marker Norge! I’ve primarily been inspired by the colours here, and of course the flowers. I did contemplate pink hair, but opted for a pink dress instead. I really do love pink and turquoise together. I have no idea why I don’t use it more often on cards to be honest!

For this card I’ve used a stamp from Mo’s Digital Pencil. Isn’t she lovely? I’ve coloured it in with Copics as I always do and you can find the colours at the bottom of the post. I’ve used chipboard for the leaves from Make It Crafty, a background stamp (I’ve got to say it again, I absolutely love how I can now have a gingham pattern in any colour I fancy!) and dies from La-La Land Crafts, charm and twine from Kort og Godt and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I made the sentiment myself.

As you can see from the photo below, I’ve added the image part onto foam tape and decorated the inside a little bit to match the colours of the front. I also made a matching box for this.

Copics used: (skin) E00, E02, E13, E15, (hair and basket) E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, (pink) RV52, RV55, RV66, R39, (green) YG00, YG13, YG61, YG63, YG67, G99, (white) C1, C3

LLLC – Hello Lovely and no-lines colouring

La-La Land Crafts is having a new release! Yey! They have these awesome new background stamps out! I’m show casing this project today using the set Hello Lovely and I have used both the background image and the sentiment. I stamped the background image using Distress Oxide. Opted for a clean and simple card.

I coloured the image up with copics (colours at the bottom of the post) and opted to give no-lines another go. It doesn’t happen all too often, I admit, but it was fun. It’s the only way I seem to be happy with colouring blonde hair at the moment. Afterwards I cut it out by hand and glued it onto the card before adding a bit of shadow directly onto the card under her feet.

You will find direct links to all the products I used below the photos.

Birthday dragon

I randomly decided to follow a sketch this morning. I have only done that once or twice before, I think, but I saw it and thought why not. It is the sketch for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at MFT Card Challenge. I figured I then might as well use their stamps and enter in the challenge, so I decided on the Magical Dragons and my favourite colour. The dragon stamp was combined with balloons from the Happy Hippos set and the sentiment from the Adorable Elephants set.

The paper is from Papermania, the circular die from La-La Land Crafts and some candi.

Copics used: BG70, BG72, BG75, Y11, Y13, Y19, V91, V93, V95, R00, R20, R22, C1, C3, C5

MFT Cards Challenge – Sketch 380

Hip, hippo, hooray!

You know what’s fun? Distress Oxide inks! I coloured up these adorable stamps from My Favorite Things (MFT Stamps), which I bought at Dies to die for (in the UK). I made three little images in matching colours and then cut them out by hand. Then I decided on a card design, and it got completely ruined, so I had to start over. Thankfully I hadn’t gotten around to using the images yet!

I used three different inks, first light green, then darker green and then blue before going with darker green and lighter green. Let’s see.. the inks are called  twisted citron – lucky clover – salty ocean. The inks I had matched how I’d coloured the image up perfectly. I love it when things just work out like that! After I’d gotten the inks blended I splashed water onto it and let it run down the card. Isn’t that effect just awesome? I want to do loads more like it! To match it up I picked three Copics and coloured in candi to put in the top corner.

Here is the side on view of the card.

Copics used: (hippo) C1, C3, C5, (blue) B32, B34, B37, (green) YG01, YG13, YG67, (teal) BG53, BG57, BG78 + white gel pen

MFT Stamps – The Birthday Project

Molly with birthday cake

It is the first Tuesday of the month today. That means it’s Tiddly Tuesday and a new challenge. This time around we’d like to see you make projects using the lovely character Molly! I decided to use Molly Celebrates for this.

You know what’s funny? Because I use very little flowers on Christmas cards and have been so fond of making clean and simple cards of late, I was really stuck when I decided to add flowers. Slightly baffled by this I just sat down on the sofa to read for a while, and then when I got back and played with it, it seemed to go somewhat already. It felt rather weird just staring at the flowers and wondering what to do with them, though! haha.

The papers I’ve used on this card are all from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I really do love this colour. I’ve, once again, painted the edges with white acrylic paint. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts (now closed), I coloured up some candi in matching purples and then used a sentiment by My Favourite Things (MFT Stamps) which I embossed with white.

Here is a close-up of the colouring. You can also see the die cut leaves, which are from a La-La Land Crafts die.

Copics used: (hair) E08, E18, E19, E49, E97, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (dress and shoes) BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, C0, C3, C5 (cake) V12, V15, V17, Y19, E08, C0, C3 + white gel pen
