Party mice

All out of ideas for another masculine card, I decided to instead go with something reasonably neutral. The recipient of this card is quite fond of green, so that was an obvious choice. Little did I know when I started that I would end up with orange of all colours! Anyway, the card was made and it’s an easel card!

Last minute I decided to make a birthday card for my uncle. I didn’t have time to go shopping and as the card had to have something green in it, I didn’t have a lot of options as to what papers to use. After trying various combinations, I ended up with picking orange to go with it, of all things…The green papers are both from a pad from First Edition cards. I quite like their paper pads and generally purchase mine in one of the local Range shops when I’m in England.

As I wanted this card to be a bit different I thought it was time to have a go at one of my new easel cards, and picked the one with a circular top. Then I cut out four circles. Two orange and two smaller in white. Next I sliced the bottom off one of each colour.

The stamp was easy enough to choose. I wanted something fun where I could use both orange and green. Thankfully I have a fair few Copics of both colours! The stamp I’ve used is of partying mice and is from Lili of the Valley, the actual name of the stamp is Party Presents.

When glueing the bits together I decided it was an excellent opportunity to use my newly acquired orange ribbon, which obviously needed a huge bow to go with! Then I cut out 6 and 0 using my great Magnolia Grand Complete Alphabet dies. Then I found some orange pearls I had laying about which were perfect holders for making the easel stand upright. It still felt a bit plain still, so I added a sentiment with an orange border under the stamped image. It is Norwegian for ‘happy birthday’. Finally I added two orange pearls to the top corners of it.

Below are a couple more photos of the card. One from the side, so you can see it stood up, and the other a close up of the top half of the front.
