Lilac birthday fairy

Yesterday I went shopping with the intention of getting just a couple of bits. You would think by now I would realise it does not quite work that way… Once again I bought much more than I need. There are so many gorgeous papers and a lot of them made their way home with me. I also got a ton of inspiration looking at some of the cards on display in the shop. It is a shame I have to work all evening, as I think I could easily sit and make cards all day today. It is so nice getting the exams finished for the summer! This post is for the first card I made after getting the craft stuff back out.

Purple, it had to be purple! I found several papers I have used previously and only had a little of yet. Before I packed the crafty corner away before the last spell of studying I bought some plain square card blanks finally and those are what I have been using since. I used various bits of paper left over from previous cards, which I think are predominately from Maja Design. For once I didn’t make a bottom layer to frame the background, instead I just went with white. When I bought those card blanks, I also bought the scalloped oval and oval dies from Spellbinders. I don’t normally use dies, but I really wanted to try those and I’m glad I did. I have already used them on several cards!

The wee birthday fairy stamp is from Lili of the Valley, and coloured with copics. Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Lastly I added some swirls from a die that came with my big shot, and some pearls.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

Pixie Dust Studio – #130: Patterned Papers
Wild Orchid Challenges – Week 51: Eyes down for bingo
Dies to Die for – Anything goes
