A couple of weeks ago I made a baby card for a friend. As she is expecting a baby girl it was the perfect excuse to go all out on pinks and cute and ribbons! What a great inspiration to start out with. I had ordered various bits specifically to make this card, and thankfully it all arrived in time for me to get the card done before taking it with me to England where she lives. This post is to show off that card.
I had been wanting to use the baby in the hammock stamp from Lili of the Valley for quite some time, but didn’t really have any cards to make where such a stamp would be appropriate, so when I decided to make this card I ordered it straight away. As I have never really been great at planning a long time ahead, the stamp arrived just in time for me to make the card, thankfully. I don’t know what I would have used if it hadn’t! At the same time I had ordered some new greens and skin colours that I have used a lot since, I love them! Ink’n’Rubba had them mentioned in one of their posts, and I am glad I ordered them purely based on seeing them used on that card! They made it super easy to colour the card in, and the pinks matched in nicely.
The paper I decided on was bought a while ago, and I was able to use both sides of it! Not only did it save me looking for paper to match, but it made it really easy to choose a plain yellow for the border. This is the first card I made where the actual card was pre-made and the scalloped border is so pretty! I will definitely get through this pack of 50 blanks nice and easy, heh. To finish it off I used an adorable baby ribbon which has tiny feet, dummy, pram and other cute little baby symbols. To finish it off I merely added a pink ribbon in the corner.
The inside looked pretty much the same, except there were no ribbons and bows, and of course the greeting area was blank.
