Shy violet and frustration-inked background

Have you ever been so stuck on a card that you have fuzzy cut it twice? Once with a border and once without? And then been so frustrated on what to do with the actual that you’re almost just throwing away the image? Well this happened to me, on this card. It’s possible because it is yellow. I am not very good with yellow. So how did it end up as a card?

Well… I got out one of my copic refill ink bottles and just tossed some ink down on the blank card, then I got a cotton pad which I poured more ink on and just rubbed it on the white background. And there we go. It wasn’t supposed to be pretty, or planned, or anything. In fact I liked how it just showed my frustration somewhat, hahaha. I made a sentiment text and printed it out and layered it between the inked background and the coloured image.

A perfectly reasonable way to react when you cannot think of what to do, right? haha. I really quite like it, though, and I will definitely do more cards like it. Although… it will be more intentional next time! Maybe I should do a tutorial on it then…

And the image? That is Shy Violet by Tiddly Inks. The card is for the new Tiddly Inks anything goes challenge. Come join in, will you?

Tiddly flowers for you

Today is Friday. That means it’s time for Fab Friday over at the Tiddly Inks blog! I decided to use Thankful Heart for my card.

I had fun playing around with colours for this one. I decided to take some random colours for the hair and I really really like how it turned out. I think I might have just found myself a new favourite hair colour combination for brown hair! The flowers turned out pretty good also, I think.

And here is a view from a different angle:

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E11, (hair) E41, E34, E25, E27, E59, (flowers) V05, V06, V09, Y04, Y17, Yg03, YG67, (glass and sky) B000, B00, B02, (clouds) BV20, BV23 + white gel pen

Animal fun – Tiddly Inks blog hop

It’s blog hop time! Tiddly Inks is hosting a blog hop to introduce the new temporary DT that I joined last month and some guest designers are taking part also. To view the page for the blog hop, please click here. Don’t forget to visit each person’s blog or those in the Inlinkz list and leave a comment – there are great prizes to be won and you’ll find freebies, too! You can find all the details here.

I decided to mix and match a few of the stamps. The cat, hat, presents and text stamps were fun to put together for this CAS card. I think they are perfect for fun party cards! You can find the various stamp sets here.

And guess what! The amazingly talented Christy has let me put one of her stamps on here for you all to download for free! How great is that?!

Simply click on the photo (it should open in a new tab for you so you get it full size), then right-click the image and choose save picture as, the image is called fun animal party. Then you can print it out and colour it up like you usually do. Don’t forget, as always, you may not upload the uncoloured image to share on your site. If you want others to get the digital stamp, you are more than welcome to direct them here so they can download it, too. Make sure you always follow Tiddly Inks‘ terms of use when you use one of their images, this one included!

I’m sure Christy would love to see what you all make with it, so please upload and show off your coloured project at the Tiddly Inks Facebook group. Yes, I’d love to see it, too! 😀

The shy pot plant

It is time for a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks. This time it is an autumny colour collage you can use for inspiration. I’ve stuck with most of the colours, apart from maybe the orange. The stamp I decided to use for this is one of the stamps you get in the Shy Violet set. It’s been coloured in with Copics. You can find the list of colours below.

I’ve used a text sentiment from Lili of the Valley, and flowers from The Hobby House and Wild Orchid Crafts.

Copics used: (pot) E42, E43, E44, E47, E49, (table) W1, W3, W5, W7, (flower) R81, R83, R85, R89, (leaves) G40, G82, G94, G99

After the vows

Did you know that Tiddly Inks recently released not one, but two(!) new gorgeous wedding images!? This blog of mine is already full of the ones I’ve made with the previous images, and I’ve gone on a spree colouring up these new ones also. They’re so much fun and I love making wedding cards!

I decided on another CAS card because I think they’re the best way to show off new images. This one is called After The Vows and is coloured in with copics. As always I’ll find the colours below. I made the text into a sort of frame and then I put it all with a red frame around it also.

To accentuate the veil I used glitter glue on the lines. I think it turned out quite well, actually!
