Hello Mr. Snowman

My holiday is half way through! What would be more fitting than a card filled with snow, eh? I mean, it couldn’t be further away from the weather atm in Australia. It is time for a new Art by Mi Ran‘s Facebook group’s Anything Goes challenge, with bling as the optional theme. I was going to opt out of the bling part, but I changed my mind at the end. I used Mi Ran‘s gorgeous Hello, Mr. Snowman for this.

As usual I have coloured it in with copics. On the sky background I coloured it in with blue and painted over with white acrylic paint, just for fun! I used the paint around the edges on all of the backgrounds as well.

The dies are by Noor Design and Tim Holtz. I also used a Martha Stewart puncher. A few cones and 5 Wild Orchid Crafts roses with a bit of Live and Love Crafts lace made up most of the rest!

Eirwen in the snow

Time for another Mi Ran progressive challenge! The name of this pretty lady is Eirwen. If you want to play along with us, simply go to our Facebook group to see all the details. If you don’t want to, then well, you’ll simply have to wait a month to get a hold of her in Mi Ran’s shop. Who’d want to wait that long, right?!

I took forever to decide which colour to do her dress in! As red was the obvious colour I wanted to pick something else. It was a fight between green and purple, and as you can see: purple won. I coloured it all in with copics.

For this card I decided to go with a lot of dies instead of a lot of flowers! All the dies on the left hand side are by Noor Design, whereas I have used a Tim Holtz snowflake die on the right and a Martha Stewart puncher for the branches. The papers used on this card are by Kaboks and Lili of the Valley. To jazz it up a bit, I’ve pained all the trees and papers with white acrylic paint to make it look like it’s been snowing. I also used white frantage on the image (which is hard to see on the white background in the photo, but it looks look on the actual card. I also added a hint of glitter to all the white puffy bits on the image. I couldn’t leave flowers off completely either, so I used a few from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Bookaholic

Just back from a few days over in England. Spent a couple of days in lovely Liverpool! I popped by Range in Blackburn as well and got me a couple of paper pads… as if I needed any more! Heh. I’ve already used one of them on this card, as well as my most recent Lili of the Valley purchase!

It is time for yet another challenge over at Mi Ran’s Facebook group! The theme is, as usual, anything goes! I decided to use Bookaholic Kaite for this and coloured it in with Copics. The butterflies and leaves are from Noor Design dies and a Martha Stewart puncher. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The small circles are card candi by Craftwork Cards.

Bubble Brea

It is time for a new Progressive Challenge over at Mi Ran’s Facebook group! The image for the challenge this month is Bubble Brea, and you have to join in for the challenge to get a hold of her! It’s fun really and if you play along this month you get next month’s digital image given to you to play along for that as well! How neat is that?! And I can tell you, the image for next month is equally fantastic! They all are! So why not give it a try?

Did you know Mi Ran is having a DT call? It is a great team to be on, and I urge everybody to apply! It closes on Monday 8th. Best of luck to everybody!

I must admit I took a full week to even dare considering colouring this one. It looked so very difficult! All that hair and the bubbles and the dress, oh my! However, being on the DT means you cannot really opt out, hehehe. So I finally dared to give it a go, and I am quite pleased with how she turned out. I am very pleased with the outfit and even the bubbles, actually! It’s really not as hard as it looked!

I have used papers from First Edition Paper along with some yellow spotted cardboard that came in a sweets package, heh. The colour combination I used is a bit unusual for me, but it was fun and I love how it turned out! The image is coloured with copics, you can find the colours I used at the bottom of the post. I made butterflies and leaves using Noor Designs dies, the flowers and ribbon are all by Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

Curly Victorian Girl

It is Friday and time for a new challenge at Art by Mi Ran’s facebook group. Anything goes is always great because you can choose whichever of Mi Ran’s awesome images to use for it! I used Victoria for this card, mostly to have a real good go at those curls! I wanted it to stand out properly so I cropped the image to the upper half of the body only. Sadly the darker brown markers were a bit sticky. Silly things need cleaning ALL the time!!

So yeah, I coloured it in with copics, you can find the colours at the bottom of the page. I used paper from Pion, Inkido and First Edition Paper, and I made the blue background myself. I do regret using the blue frame around the image. I blame a long week at work on that one… Oh well! The white and pink circles are iCandy by Craftwork Cards, the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, The Hobby House and Live and Love Crafts. I added a feather, but it’s not so visible in the photo. The butterlies are Noor Design.
