Bookaholic

Just back from a few days over in England. Spent a couple of days in lovely Liverpool! I popped by Range in Blackburn as well and got me a couple of paper pads… as if I needed any more! Heh. I’ve already used one of them on this card, as well as my most recent Lili of the Valley purchase!

It is time for yet another challenge over at Mi Ran’s Facebook group! The theme is, as usual, anything goes! I decided to use Bookaholic Kaite for this and coloured it in with Copics. The butterflies and leaves are from Noor Design dies and a Martha Stewart puncher. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The small circles are card candi by Craftwork Cards.

Bubble Brea

It is time for a new Progressive Challenge over at Mi Ran’s Facebook group! The image for the challenge this month is Bubble Brea, and you have to join in for the challenge to get a hold of her! It’s fun really and if you play along this month you get next month’s digital image given to you to play along for that as well! How neat is that?! And I can tell you, the image for next month is equally fantastic! They all are! So why not give it a try?

Did you know Mi Ran is having a DT call? It is a great team to be on, and I urge everybody to apply! It closes on Monday 8th. Best of luck to everybody!

I must admit I took a full week to even dare considering colouring this one. It looked so very difficult! All that hair and the bubbles and the dress, oh my! However, being on the DT means you cannot really opt out, hehehe. So I finally dared to give it a go, and I am quite pleased with how she turned out. I am very pleased with the outfit and even the bubbles, actually! It’s really not as hard as it looked!

I have used papers from First Edition Paper along with some yellow spotted cardboard that came in a sweets package, heh. The colour combination I used is a bit unusual for me, but it was fun and I love how it turned out! The image is coloured with copics, you can find the colours I used at the bottom of the post. I made butterflies and leaves using Noor Designs dies, the flowers and ribbon are all by Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

Curly Victorian Girl

It is Friday and time for a new challenge at Art by Mi Ran’s facebook group. Anything goes is always great because you can choose whichever of Mi Ran’s awesome images to use for it! I used Victoria for this card, mostly to have a real good go at those curls! I wanted it to stand out properly so I cropped the image to the upper half of the body only. Sadly the darker brown markers were a bit sticky. Silly things need cleaning ALL the time!!

So yeah, I coloured it in with copics, you can find the colours at the bottom of the page. I used paper from Pion, Inkido and First Edition Paper, and I made the blue background myself. I do regret using the blue frame around the image. I blame a long week at work on that one… Oh well! The white and pink circles are iCandy by Craftwork Cards, the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, The Hobby House and Live and Love Crafts. I added a feather, but it’s not so visible in the photo. The butterlies are Noor Design.

Butterfly princess

It is time for another card for the Mi Ran progressive challenges at their Facebook group. I love this image! It is so very pretty, don’t you think?! I couldn’t wait to get it coloured and I can now finally add my card here! You can get the image from Mi Ran’s Etsy shop. It will be available in the shop next month and is called Rora and Butterfly. If you want it now, just join in the FB challenge!

I am so pleased how it turned out, the colouring, the layout, everything! It is definitely my new favourite Mi Ran image and I am so happy with how it all came together. I used colours I’ve rarely used when colouring, and darker papers than usual, they are from Fab Scraps Paper. I’ve roughened up the edges, added lace from Live and Love Crafts, distresed the edges with green and purple, used Noor Design leaves in green and purple, Martha Stewart butterflies with rows of pearls. Oh and lots of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, obviously.

Petal blossom

It is that time again! A new Anything Goes challenge on Mi Ran’s Facebook group. I have used Petal Blossom to make my DT card and coloured it in with copics.

I noticed some of the other DT girls had used pink for this one, so I decided to use a different colour combination and ended up doing one I’m not even certain I have tried before! Blue and purple! I do love it though and will be sure to use it to make another card again soon! When I started colouring, I was very usure how her dress would turn out as I’ve not had much luck with folds so far. I am very happy how it turned out, though! Best I’ve done so far I reckon. Hopefully I will finish the skin and hair class at Kit and Clowder soon so that I can start on the clothing one. I’ve never been good at doing things in order, or waiting until I have time for the tutorials, heh.

The papers used on this card is by Lili of the Vally, the flowers and ribbon are Wild Orchid Crafts, I’ve used stickles for the sparkly border and lace from a local yarn shop.
