POD Gazing at the Sunrise

There is something about rubber stamps and the amazingly clear stamp you get from it. There is no secret that I love Purple Onion Designs and their gorgeous stamps. I’m looking forward to making the blog more active and show you all the cards I’ve made the past couple of months. First off is this Gazing couple enjoying the Sunrise. And the Seaside sentiment set is perfect. I’ve used a matching dark brown ink for this one.

PFS A Spooky Flight Kit

Picket Fence Studios (this and following links are affiliate links) is releasing a frighteningly fun kit today! It is called A Spooky Flight and is all about Halloween.

I’ve finally played around with alcohol inks for this card! There are two green colours included and I’ve added a dash of yellow to go with. I absolutely love the spooky butterflies, so had to use them right away!

Here is a side on view of the card as well.

PFS Golden Sunflower

Who doesn’t love a good sunflower stamp? Here is a new Lemon Queen Sunflower (this and all following links are affiliate links) from Picket Fence Studios. I’ve stamped it in pale ink and coloured it up in a no-line version. The lined version has very prominent lines and a dark centre, so it should be fairly easy to colour up. I’ve coloured it up with Copics and then used some coloured pencils of the top.

Once again I’ve played with inks. This time I did it on the card base with three different shades of yellow. I wanted it to be subtle, yet interesting, instead of having it in a plain yellow colour. To make it fairly visible I’ve used one of the rectangles in the Double Stitched Rectangle dies set to cut out the coloured panel. I wanted to show a fair bit of the background without cutting off too much of the flower at the same time.

I’ve stamped on a sentiment from the Fancy Congratulaions set and then put on some sequins from the Candy Corn sequin mix.

We’ll have a close-up look at it as well.

PFS Hello Baby

I’ve made a simple baby card with the new baby stamp set, Animal Crackers Kind Messages ( all links are aff. link), from Picket Fence Stamps. It is stamped in a pale ink to get a no-line effect. I then used the coordinating die to cut it out. Behind the area of the stamp I ink blended some pale blue, making sure it went all the way down to the corner I wanted the stamp to be close to. This was to give it a baby boy vibe. The matching sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Here is another photo of the card:

POD Beach Time

For my third card for the Purple Onion Designs latest release I’ve made another beach scene. This time it is a beach scene with the ocean and sunset in the background.

Taylor and Thaddeus are playing in the sand as the sun sets behind the Beach House. They can easily walk up the Boardwalk and over to the stairs when they get called in for bed time. It was fun masking the stamps together and then colouring up the whole scene. I’ve stuck with a rather limited colour palette this time as well. I used an old sentiment from the Everyday Blurbs to go with.
