Power Poppy tulips

My mum loves tulips. So when she had her birthday this week I really wanted to make a card with tulips on. I found a beautiful stamp at Power Poppy and it suited me perfectly.

I wanted to keep the flowers completely in focus so I made a very simple card to go with it, where I made the sentiment myself.

Here is another photo as well

Copics used: (green) YG01, YG13, YG63, YG67, G99 (red) R22, R24, R27, R59, R89, (yellow) Y13, Y19, YR15, E08, (pink) RV17, RV52, RV55, RV66, (purple) V09, V12, V15, V17, (shadow) W0, W1, W3, W5, W7

Thank you so much!

Thankful heart, CAS

This is one of my favourite Tiddly Inks images. I love the close-up, framed style of it. The last time I used this image on a card, I had loads of layers, so I wanted this one to be different. CAS it is!

The name of the stamp is Thankful Heart and you can find it here. I’ve coloured it up with copics. The papers is by Paper Cellar, the bottom sentiment by Stempelglede and the black buttons are candi by Craftwork Cards.

Here is another photo of the card; a close-up of the coloured image.

Copics used: (sky) B34, C1, (hair) E41, E42, E43, E44, (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (jar) B000, B00, B02, (flowers) R22, R24, R59, Y04, Y19, Y38, YG63, YG67, (dress) BG53, BG57, BG78

Hippi hippi hurra!

Sometimes I feel like making something totally random. This is one of those times. I coloured up the image and got a hippie feeling from it, so I went with that idea. I wanted a floral background for it, so I made one with a stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop and distress oxide inks. I then sprayed on some water and splattered more watered down distress oxide ink onto it. The sentiment then sort of made itself to go with.

But only sort of… I made one, did the photos, posted it up and… couldn’t get it off my mind. I really didn’t like how I’d made it. After a couple of hours, I gave up on being annoyed and tried to poke it back off. Slowly it gave way and I could make a new one. Now I really like it! Yey for Ctrl-Z in real life! Haha

Oh and the girl stamp is by Make It Crafty and is coloured with copics. You can find the colours I used at the bottom of this post.

Here you can see the coloured part up close, as well as some of the flowers and dots I made for the background.

Copics used: (dress, shoes and flower) V06, V09, RV02, RV14, YR15, E08, YG03, YG67, (hair) BV23, BV25, BV29, (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (grass) YG03, YG63, YG67, G99

Celebrate joyfully – flowers

Today is another break from Christmas cards with this whimsical one. I’ve used a Tiddly Inks stamp for it and coloured it in with Copics. In fact the stamp is an extra one you get if you purchase Celebrate Joyfully. The papers are various scraps I had laying about that I wanted to use up, and the sentiment is my own. I’ve used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts.

And just because I love taking photos at weird angles, you get another one!

Shy violet and frustration-inked background

Have you ever been so stuck on a card that you have fuzzy cut it twice? Once with a border and once without? And then been so frustrated on what to do with the actual that you’re almost just throwing away the image? Well this happened to me, on this card. It’s possible because it is yellow. I am not very good with yellow. So how did it end up as a card?

Well… I got out one of my copic refill ink bottles and just tossed some ink down on the blank card, then I got a cotton pad which I poured more ink on and just rubbed it on the white background. And there we go. It wasn’t supposed to be pretty, or planned, or anything. In fact I liked how it just showed my frustration somewhat, hahaha. I made a sentiment text and printed it out and layered it between the inked background and the coloured image.

A perfectly reasonable way to react when you cannot think of what to do, right? haha. I really quite like it, though, and I will definitely do more cards like it. Although… it will be more intentional next time! Maybe I should do a tutorial on it then…

And the image? That is Shy Violet by Tiddly Inks. The card is for the new Tiddly Inks anything goes challenge. Come join in, will you?
