James the bear is watching the snow fall

Here you can see the second Christmas card I made for March. This means I am still on track for two a month this year, phew! Barely made it with this one as well. I guess I will try to do better in April and start a bit earlier.  At least, I still had snow when I made this.. not sure I will manage to make anything once tempratures start realising summer is only a couple of months away! Oh well, I’ll try!

I went with a Lili of the Valley bear. This is possibly my very favourite bear and I love his different poses. His name is James, by the way, if you didn’t know. Lili of the Valley was one of the first stamp brands I started using, and even though they have stopped selling their rubber stamps, I still have mine from when I first got them in 2011! I’m glad they’re still doing digital stamps, as they’re great!

I’ve used Noor Design and Maja Design paper, a bit of acrylic paint and cheesecloth as well as Baker’s Twine, a Kort og Godt charm and some candi. Those are all high on my list of things I like to use to make Christmas cards.

Here is another photo where the card is laying down flat:

A bit of turquoise

We have a new challenge up at Copic Marker Norge and this is my inspirational card for it. On the moodboard for this month I was inspired by the colours: turquoise and white with a hint of yellow, as well the decorations and flowers. The image I chose for this is by Ching-Chou Kuik. I do love getting to make a card using my favourite colours!

I’ve used papers by Maja Design and Bazzill, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a stamp from Noor Design to create the effect around the image which I used distress oxide ink on, a Happy Birthday stamp from My Favorite Things, and a border die from La-La Land Crafts.

Here you can see the card from a side on view. There are several elements put on foam pads to create a sense of dimension.

Here is a close-up of the flower arrangement

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (hair) E41, E42, E43, E44, (dress) BG49, BG53, BG78, G40, Y04, Y38, E97, (shadow) W0, W1, W3, W5, W7, (flowers) RV17

Thinking of you Marci

Another Monday, another La-La Lands Crafts day! It is getting pretty close to easter and I doubt I will have much time to craft over the next two weeks or so. For once I am pretty much on top of things, though. Go me!

This week our theme is Flowers. A good excuse for me to make a new cards with flowers on. You will find a list of products I’ve used with links to the items below the photos, above the list of Copics. I’ve gotten better at layering up cards again lately at least, not all clean and simple cards, but I am still not great at using flowers on a lot of projects. But here is one! The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts, the papers by Maja Design and charm by Tim Holtz.

The leaves are pretty great. They cut wonderfully and you have one going each direction! Yey!

Here you can see how I’ve layed up the dies. First the Filigree Flower under the image, then the Deco Border around the image itself, and lastly the butterfly on top.

I love these butterflies! I’ve given them a prominent body with a string of pearls.

Here is one final photo of the card from the floral arrangement side.

Bringing gifts in the snow

As I mentioned earlier this month: I managed to complete my two Christmas cards this month. Here is the other one. This one was also completed on the 28th February. Got to love last-minute work, right? I decided to go with another winter themed card as they are my favourites for Christmas.

For this one I used a Magnolia stamp, various Maja Design paper, acrylic paint, candi, Memory Box and QuicKutz (Lifestyle Crafts) dies and cheese cloth.

Happy birthday

Monday means it’s time for another LaLa Land Crafts inspirational project. This week our theme is birthday. I think this is my favourite LLLC stamp. Isn’t she adorable? She is called Darling Molli. Definitely one of my favourites. As usual you can find a link to all the LLLC products below the card photo.

This card is made with Maja Design papers which I’ve painted around the edges with white acrylic paint. I printed the word birthday and distressed it with the Tattered Rose colour, as that colour was a pretty good match for the card. The two butterfly dies (aren’t they pretty?!) got a body made out of pearls. The image, which is coloured in with Copic, was cut out by hand and added to the top with foam tape.

I coloured this image in during the 30 day colouring challenge on Instagram and the reason she ended up with bright pink hair is because that is what got the most suggestions when I asked. I love it. Thanks for the great suggestions!
