Rainbow haired fairy

First Tuesday of the month again already! You know what that means, right? New Tiddly Inks challenge! I suppose my card looks like the theme is colour explosion or something, but it is in fact let’s go round! That means circular projects. They’re fun to make, right? At least I think so!

I decided to go with Fairy Tenderhearted (Tiddly Inks stamp, of course) for my card and I gave her a rainbow coloured hair and two-toned wings, with glitter! And so from there I apparently went completely crazy with the colours! I’m not sure I’ve ever used so many colours in so many places before. Fun, though, I admit!

The embossed sentiment is by My Favorite Things, the your chipboard by Make it Crafty and the birthday die by La-La Land Crafts.

Here is another photo from a different angle.

Birthday hippo and elephant

Happy Easter everybody. I decided to take some for myself today and make a card. The stamps I’ve used are by My Favorite Things. Aren’t they adorable? they are from the Happy Hippo og Adorable Elephants sets.

The paper I have used is by Papirdesign, the border die is by Pretty Pink Posh and the birthday die is by La-La Land Crafts.

I decided to go with another clean and simple layout. This is definitely a current favourite, as I’m sure you’ve all figured out by now. Other favourites are these darling stamps and the birthday die.

Here is another photo:

Monsters!

Another boy’s birthday which I needed to make a card for. It almost looks like I’m making a habit out of making boy cards now! This time I decided to use monsters from Your Next Stamp. Aren’t they awesome? I cut them out by hand.

The background is made using Distress Oxide Ink. I then splashed water on it in rather big chunks which created a great contrasting effect. I added the coloured strip to the middle of the card and added the monsters on top so it looks like they’re stood up over the top of the card.

After I took the photos I used an alphabet die set and cut out the boy’s name in dark purple and put it underneath the happy birthday sentiment. The happy birthday sentiment is by My Favorite Things which I embossed in white. And the white dots? They’re candi by Craftwork Cards.

And from the side, where you can also see some of the doodling I did inside.

Copics used: V09, V12, V15, V17, R81, R85, YG01, YG13, G07, G28, Y13, Y38, YR09, C1, C3, C9

Dragons!

I don’t make a lot of cards for boys, so this month is pretty rare. I have made 3 projects which were specifically made for boys! This is the first one I will show you and it is featuring dragons from My Favorite Things. I mean, who doesn’t love dragons, right?!

Distress Oxide Inks have quickly become a favourite of mine and I have used them here for the background. The colour I used is called Salty Ocean and I’ve spashed some water on it to get the cool effect.

The happy die is from La-La Land Crafts. (They still have a sale on. It lasts through the 19th March, see here for more details.)

As you know I don’t like having names on cards shown on the blog (especially children), unless their parents want it shown (I don’t tend to ask, just remove it), so the boy’s name has been removed.

Also, I’ve made a new credit strip for myself at the bottom of the photos. I felt I was really due a new one and it ties well in with the website theme. There will still be a few cards showcasing the old one as they are posts already scheduled. I like it 🙂

Here is the card viewed from the side, before I decorated it with doodles inside.

Copics used:  (yellow dragon) Y11, Y13, Y19, Y38, B32, B34, B37, V12, V15, V17, (blue dragon) B32, B34, B37, Y19, YR04, E08, RV09, RV10, RV14

Edit: Oh how cool. My card was spotted at My Favorite Things! Thank you so much!

Hip, hippo, hooray!

You know what’s fun? Distress Oxide inks! I coloured up these adorable stamps from My Favorite Things (MFT Stamps), which I bought at Dies to die for (in the UK). I made three little images in matching colours and then cut them out by hand. Then I decided on a card design, and it got completely ruined, so I had to start over. Thankfully I hadn’t gotten around to using the images yet!

I used three different inks, first light green, then darker green and then blue before going with darker green and lighter green. Let’s see.. the inks are called  twisted citron – lucky clover – salty ocean. The inks I had matched how I’d coloured the image up perfectly. I love it when things just work out like that! After I’d gotten the inks blended I splashed water onto it and let it run down the card. Isn’t that effect just awesome? I want to do loads more like it! To match it up I picked three Copics and coloured in candi to put in the top corner.

Here is the side on view of the card.

Copics used: (hippo) C1, C3, C5, (blue) B32, B34, B37, (green) YG01, YG13, YG67, (teal) BG53, BG57, BG78 + white gel pen
