Eirwen in the snow

Time for another Mi Ran progressive challenge! The name of this pretty lady is Eirwen. If you want to play along with us, simply go to our Facebook group to see all the details. If you don’t want to, then well, you’ll simply have to wait a month to get a hold of her in Mi Ran’s shop. Who’d want to wait that long, right?!

I took forever to decide which colour to do her dress in! As red was the obvious colour I wanted to pick something else. It was a fight between green and purple, and as you can see: purple won. I coloured it all in with copics.

For this card I decided to go with a lot of dies instead of a lot of flowers! All the dies on the left hand side are by Noor Design, whereas I have used a Tim Holtz snowflake die on the right and a Martha Stewart puncher for the branches. The papers used on this card are by Kaboks and Lili of the Valley. To jazz it up a bit, I’ve pained all the trees and papers with white acrylic paint to make it look like it’s been snowing. I also used white frantage on the image (which is hard to see on the white background in the photo, but it looks look on the actual card. I also added a hint of glitter to all the white puffy bits on the image. I couldn’t leave flowers off completely either, so I used a few from Wild Orchid Crafts.

It’s summer and another progressive challenge

It’s that time again, the time for a new Mi Ran progressive challenge! They are so much fun! You purchase the image the first time you play along, when you participate by adding your creations, you will at the start of the next month receive that image for free. It is so much fun to see all the creations you get from the same image! Everybody is so talented and creative! So come play along with us! Visit the Mi Ran Facebook group for more information. After each month the image is available in Mi Ran’s Etsy store.

It is finally a nice warm summer here, which inspired my card. I coloured the image in with copics and went with much paler colours than I have done as of late. I decided on the violet and yellow combination and even coloured the sentiment in to match. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley, as is the yellow background paper. The main background is by Maja Design and I very much regret only purchasing one sheet of it! All the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and the berry looking spray is by Live and Love Crafts. The leaves die is by Noor Design and the butterfly puncher is Martha Stewart.

Butterfly princess

It is time for another card for the Mi Ran progressive challenges at their Facebook group. I love this image! It is so very pretty, don’t you think?! I couldn’t wait to get it coloured and I can now finally add my card here! You can get the image from Mi Ran’s Etsy shop. It will be available in the shop next month and is called Rora and Butterfly. If you want it now, just join in the FB challenge!

I am so pleased how it turned out, the colouring, the layout, everything! It is definitely my new favourite Mi Ran image and I am so happy with how it all came together. I used colours I’ve rarely used when colouring, and darker papers than usual, they are from Fab Scraps Paper. I’ve roughened up the edges, added lace from Live and Love Crafts, distresed the edges with green and purple, used Noor Design leaves in green and purple, Martha Stewart butterflies with rows of pearls. Oh and lots of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, obviously.

Petal blossom

It is that time again! A new Anything Goes challenge on Mi Ran’s Facebook group. I have used Petal Blossom to make my DT card and coloured it in with copics.

I noticed some of the other DT girls had used pink for this one, so I decided to use a different colour combination and ended up doing one I’m not even certain I have tried before! Blue and purple! I do love it though and will be sure to use it to make another card again soon! When I started colouring, I was very usure how her dress would turn out as I’ve not had much luck with folds so far. I am very happy how it turned out, though! Best I’ve done so far I reckon. Hopefully I will finish the skin and hair class at Kit and Clowder soon so that I can start on the clothing one. I’ve never been good at doing things in order, or waiting until I have time for the tutorials, heh.

The papers used on this card is by Lili of the Vally, the flowers and ribbon are Wild Orchid Crafts, I’ve used stickles for the sparkly border and lace from a local yarn shop.

Mi Ran DT, shabby daisy

I have some exciting news! I was very recently asked to join Art by Mi Ran’s Facebook Design Team, and of course I accepted! It is the first time I have been on a team for an artist, and it is both intimidating and wonderful! I do love her art and I have coloured up a fair few of her images so far. Have a look at her Etsy shop and I’m sure you, too, will find something you love!

Today’s post will feature the very first card I have made as a part of the Design Team. It is for a progressive challenge. The progressive challenge works as follows: You purchase one specific image for the month you wish to start joining in the challenge. The subsequent months you will receive the image for the current challenge as long as you took part in the previous month’s challenge. Everybody uses the same image each month for this particular challenge. This month we are using Delightful Daisy and the challenge will end on 7th May.

I used copics to colour in mine. I decided to give the card a shabby look, using papers from Lili of the Valley, flowers, ribbon and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, distress ink, a papermania doily and stickles glitter glue.
