Beary Christmas hugs

Another Christmas card where I have used a Lili of the Valley pre-coloured topper. I admit I have used a lot of these to make the Christmas cards this year as I haven’t really had time to colour much myself. I quite like this one with the two hugging bears in the santa hat 🙂 . Next year I will purchase different ones to use as well. As much as I like these it’s great to have a bit more variation than I’ve had this year, I think!

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the punches are by Martha Stewart. The ribbon is purchased at the Ribbon Girl, I believe, and the papers are from Pion.

Christmas is coming, fast!

A week into December already! I have spent my spare time crafting rather than blogging so far as there hasn’t been a whole lot of it. The Christmas cards are finally well under way! I have been making mostly traditional looking ones, but I have made the odd one using what I find to be somewhat unusual colours or colour combinations for Christmas cards. I thought I’d start with showing off one of those. To get them all shown before Christmas I will try to post one a day.

The card topper is by The Hobby House, and I’ve added some snow using dewdrops. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are made with a Martha Stewart puncher. The ribbon and doily are both Papermania.

Lovephant

Here is my first project as a member of Paper Playtime‘s design team. For our challenge this week, we have the theme “anything goes”.

I made this card using paper from Pion (the back of a fancy one), a paper pad I’ve had for years and I cannot remember where the one with the hearts are from as I used bits I had left over from last year. The reason that the background looks a bit bright is that the paper is shimmering so got caught in the light, and it is the same paper I have used the back of for the deep red lines and leaves which also look dull. Their colour is more similar to the colour of the bow, that’s how far off it is! Anyway, enough rambling. The elephant is a pre coloured image from Lili of the Valley and the sentiment stamp is also from there. All flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Expectations

Yes! I managed to take proper photos of my cards this time! Ah, simple pleasures, lol. I’ve made a handful of cards over the weekend, and added images to a handful of candles! Feels great finally having these things under control with a little over a week to go, and a very busy week coming up! I’m really quite pleased with the cards I made yesterday and this is the first of them:
