Elephant magic

I made a Christmas card this morning and thought I’d, once again, get it added straight away. I have used a pre-coloured topper by Wild Rose Studio this time. I jazzed it up with putting glitter on top of the swirly magic, as well as adding some silver liquid pearls for an added snow effect. The flowers, purple ribbon and bows as well as the big purple pearls are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The dark purple paper is from Kaboks, and the light purple paper used for the dies is by Lili of the Valley. The ribbon and pearly lace strip is from a local shop.  I have used various dies from Noor! design for the snowflake border and two stand alone snowflakes. They are such pretty dies!

I have decided to enter this is the design team call at Noor! design, so this bit here will be for that purpose. I am Liz and thirty-something living in Norway and I’ve been crafting since summer 2011, mostly making cards. When it comes to crafting, I mostly use my blog, but also I belong to various Facebook crafting groups and use instagram occasionally, though mostly for scenery photos I admit! Although I am on Twitter, I don’t use it very much. I have previous been on the DT team for a challenge blog, and for The Hobby House. Normally I don’t really try to apply for any design teams, but this one just felt right to apply for. One of the reasons is that I have been very pleased with swift and wonderful service provided by Noor! design, and the other is obviously that I love their designs. I mean, who wouldn’t?! I will be using these dies all the time and would love to show my work to fellow Noor! design fans. As I am not on any other DTs I would have the time required to dedicate to this one. I use both pre-coloured images and stamps I colour myself for my cards.

Here is a close up of the  Noor! design dies I used on this card:

Winter fairy

I have finally started properly on Alyce’s Skin and Hair class over at Kit and Clowder. Let me just say the classes are wonderful. I am so much happier with my colouring and it is so much more fun making cards with images I have coloured myself now. I might even have to get rid of most of the pre-coloured toppers I’ve got!

Today I have decided to put up a card I made today. That is the second time in a short while I’ve been so eager to put up what I’ve coloured that I’ve taken a photo and added it to the blog straight away! Funnily enough, the previous one was also a blue winter card… Any guess what I love making most… lol.

I have used a Wee Stamps image, by Sylvia Zet, called Iris. I have coloured her in with copics with various B00s, Cs, E40s and E00s. The doily is from Papermania, the brown paper is from Tim Holtz, as are the snowflake die and the blue distress ink. The lace is from a local shop and the ribbon from a site where I ordered a dress.. The blue paper is from Papirdesign and the flowers are, as always, from Wild Orchid Crafts. I also added some dark blue glitter to the frantage.

Snowfall

Well, this must be a first. I am so pleased with this card I simply had to take the photo straight away so I could put it up on the blog today! I reckon this is the first time I’ve had to post a card up here the same day I made it, lol. This week I went to the shop and bought some new toys, and coloured in my first image after following one of Alyce’s tutorials at Kit and Clowder. It is the skin and hair class I have started on and this is just lesson one, basic skin, and this image is my first colouring after watching the video. I cannot claim to be a very good student as I decided to colour an image I had laying next to me, rather than what was in the lesson, but practice is practice right! I tried to experiment with brighter colours than I normally do, with more contrast.

Anyway, for the card. I have roughened up the edges using a tool I never intended to buy.. For some reason the cashier at a shop added a completely random extra product and I only noticed the small thing after I got home and looked at the receipt. I was just too lazy to go back and figured I’d find a use for it one day. Well, I did! The papers are plain card stock, glitter card stock and Papirdesign snowflake paper. I have used a Tim Holtz die and two Martha Stewart punchers as well as flowers, pearls and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts. The beautiful image is Art by Miran, called Winter Sofia, coloured with copics and snow added using frantage. You can see what colours I used at the bottom of the post.

Mister Frosty

Merry Christmas everybody! God jul!

Sadly, we got no snow for Christmas this year. Our Christmas was celebrated last night. It was stormy, rainy day. Still, it was cozy and warm in doors with plenty of traditional films to watch on the TV, a lot of yummy food and cakes and plenty of gifts.

I still had to make a few cards with snowmen and snowflakes on! I have used various Martha Stewart punchers for this card, some pearls and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a doily from dovecraft and a pre-coloured image from Lili of the Valley. Luckily, I found some background paper that I thought fit the image perfectly. This is one of my favourite cards this Christmas.
