LLLC: Tropical Paradise

It is Friday and that means it’s time for another La-La Land Crafts inspirational post. The theme we had to work with this week was Tropical Paradise, and I’ve done my own twist on it using older dies and one of the first background stamps they released.

Stamps:

Mini Butterflies

Copics used: (skin) E0000, E00, E02, E13, E15, (hair and coconut) E21, E25, E29, E35, (pink) RV17, RV52, RV55, RV69, (yellow) Y13, Y38

It’s a boy

I’ve made a baby card using my favourite colours and some of my favourite supplies. Once again it is a tall card without any real colouring. The papers are Bazzil and Maja Design, the chipboard is SnipArt (frame) and Make it Crafty (boy) which I coloured up with some turquoise Copic Marker pens. The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts. The lace is also from there and I really wish I knew where I can find more of it!

Make a wish

It is once again the 15th of the month and that means we’re kicking off another anything goes challenge over at Copic Marker Norge. This time the DT has been challenged to do no-line colouring. It’s been a while since I took the time to do one of those so when I sat down to start it took me forever to choose which image to colour! In the end I decided on a Mo’s Digital Pencil stamp called Make A Wish.

The background paper and border die are by MFT Stamps and the butterflies (which I’m sure you know by now that I have a weak spot for) are by La-La Land Crafts.

Copics used: (skin) E0000, E00, E02, E13, E15, R30, (hair) E21, E25, E27, E29, (turquoise) BG10, BG11, BG15, BG18, (purple) V12, V15, V17, (grey) N0, N1, N3, N5, N7, (green) G21, G40, G82, G94

LLLC: Get whale tissue box

For this week’s inspiration at La-La Land Crafts we had to make a 3D project. I opted for making a tissue box cover. I’ve deliberately made the cut out part square so that I can easily see which type of tissues I have in the box (as the actual tissue boxes are in different colours). As usual I decided to do it all myself. I did not write down the measurements I used as I figure there are loads of tutorials on this out there. If I am wrong, just let me know and I’ll make another and do a tutorial for it, too. You can find all the LLLC products I used at the bottom of the page. In addition I used Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and Maja Design and Bazzil paper.

Also, did you know that La-La Land Crafts is having a sale this weekend? The Labor Day sale lasts through 4th September and you get 20% off by using the code LD2018. No exclusions! Sounds great to me!

My favourite whale had to get a spot! It fits the sentiment too well to leave out. You can find the list of Copic colours at the bottom of the post.

The bottom left corner has three butterflies. I do love these little butterflies.

The larger floral arrangement is in the top left corner. I’ve used a couple of leaf dies and some cheese cloth as well

The other top corner also holds flowers, but as a smaller arrangement and with a butterfly.

Beary sweet bookmark

It is no secret that I love to read. I don’t read a large amount of books a year or anything, but I do try to get through one or two a month. So far this year I have finished four. One, potentially bad, habit I have is to read several books at the same time. Generally they are very different kinds of books, and I prefer to have one in Norwegian and one in English at least. I am currently reading three. This means I require a few bookmarks, and as I couldn’t find two of them when I started on my most recent book I decided it was time to make the bookmark I’d said I would make to match the one I made for the kid in January. Obviously mine had to be in a blue/teal kind of colour!

I decided to use the same stamp, as I think she’d like that. It is Beary Sweet from Tiddly Inks and I’ve coloured it in with Copics before I cut it out by hand. I adore Wryn wearing her panda hat! The tag was made using Silhouette Portrait 2. (I really don’t like that machine, but I’m finally finding something where it is semi-useful and cuts where I want (ish!).) All the papers are from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I’ve used dies by Memory Box and candi by Craftwork Cards, and some random ribbon I had laying about which colour fit perfectly! I love it when that happens!

I decided to use another of the stamps in that set on the back side of the bookmark. It took a moment to find a quote I liked that I could have on the back as well, and I chose this one by C. S. Lewis. I absolutely loved watching Narnia every Easter and Christmas when I grew up. It was the old BBC series and it was worth getting up to watch it every morning for sure. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was my favourite, and as I still enjoy that story, I thought the quote was perfect! To make sure everybody knows that it’s my bookmark, I added a my name behind the quote.

Here you can see the front and back together in one photo.
