Moonflower’s Tumbelina

The lovely Anne Lise asked me to be guest designer for Barnemix again, so of course I had to say yes! The image I was given to work with is by Moonflower and is called Tumbelina. For this project we were given the theme white on white. Something which I am generally quite terrible at, but I gave it a go!

I coloured it in with copics and figured keeping it all white would be a bit dull! That is why I gave her a glow and a pink dress, but I tried to keep both her hair and the dress reasonably light, somewhat inspired by distress ink colouring actually, and I kept the flowers white. It was fun to try to colour something in lighter shades!

I have used a lot of plain card stock for the card, but a small border with a Lili of the Valley background paper. I used some lace from Kaboks, Martha Stewart punchers and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts as well as Live and Love Crafts.

Eirwen in the snow

Time for another Mi Ran progressive challenge! The name of this pretty lady is Eirwen. If you want to play along with us, simply go to our Facebook group to see all the details. If you don’t want to, then well, you’ll simply have to wait a month to get a hold of her in Mi Ran’s shop. Who’d want to wait that long, right?!

I took forever to decide which colour to do her dress in! As red was the obvious colour I wanted to pick something else. It was a fight between green and purple, and as you can see: purple won. I coloured it all in with copics.

For this card I decided to go with a lot of dies instead of a lot of flowers! All the dies on the left hand side are by Noor Design, whereas I have used a Tim Holtz snowflake die on the right and a Martha Stewart puncher for the branches. The papers used on this card are by Kaboks and Lili of the Valley. To jazz it up a bit, I’ve pained all the trees and papers with white acrylic paint to make it look like it’s been snowing. I also used white frantage on the image (which is hard to see on the white background in the photo, but it looks look on the actual card. I also added a hint of glitter to all the white puffy bits on the image. I couldn’t leave flowers off completely either, so I used a few from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Christmas Wreath

It is time for a new Anything Goes challenge in the Art by Mi Ran facebook group, this time the optional theme is Anything but Square. For this card I decided to use a stamp Mi Ran has created for Whimsy Stamps called Christmas Wreath. I have, as usual, coloured it in with copics.

To make the card shape I used Go Kreate dies, I painted the edges with acrylic paint which I also added to the flowers and dies. The green paper is by Pion, the striped red one I forgot unfortunately. The tree dies and small bricks are from Noor Design, the lace is from KaBoks, the flowers are ribbon are by Wild Orchid Crafts, the berry looking flowers are from Live and Love Crafts and the sentiment stamp is from North Star Stamps. At the end I added glitter to the circular white dots to make them sparkle!

Card making course with Tracy Payne

On Saturday afternoon I couldn’t shake the thought that there was something going on this weekend that I’d forgotten about. Suddenly it hit me: there is a big scrapping fair in the city, hosted by North Star Stamps, where Tracy Payne of Noor Design UK is visiting and doing courses. I’d forgotten all about it!! Oh no! I was gutted! I went to Tracy’s FB and typed a post along the lines of “Noooo, I forgot about your courses!!”. Then the sweetheart responded she had one spot left for Sunday. It was the class I had wanted the most as well! Did that make my weekend or what!! I am so happy. It is the first card making course I’ve ever attended, and I doubt it will be my last! The card on this post is what she had us making. Isn’t it the best?! I am so pleased I got to meet Tracy, she is such a lovely person!

A lot of the products is of course by Noor Design: the snowflake and mistletoe dies, the red tag, the stencils we used to cut out the window and card shape as well as the bricks, gesso and structure paste for the white elements. The papers we were provided with are by Pion, as is the adorable image. I honestly don’t know where the rest of the goodies are from, but it wouldn’t surprise me if you can get a hold of some of them at Live and Love Crafts!

And of course I made it home with a big grin on my face along with a few new goodies, including the wonderful window stencil and a few Noor Design dies!

One thing is for certain: this card is going up as one of my Christmas decorations!

A Christmas card already

Can you believe it? September already?! Goodness me. It does, however, mean it is time for a new progressive challenge over at Mi Ran’s Facebook group! The entries in the last one were great! What you do is you purchase the image and enter in the challenge and then you get the next one given to you! How awesome is that?! You can purchase it next month in Mi Ran’s shop as well if you’d like. I’ve decided to make a Christmas card this month.

I have coloured her in with copics. I have a weak spot for making Christmas cards in blue, so obviously this is no exception, heh. The unusual bit is that I decided to not just combine it with white this time, but also red! Loads of snowflakes is also a must for me. I made mine with Noor Design and Tim Holtz dies! All the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. Peals and glitter and liquid pearls were used as finishing touches.
