Rural summer

What a beautiful day! After several days of heavy rain, darkness and dull colours, the sunshine gives plenty of energy. My exams are approaching as fast as ever, and are only a week away now. Thankfully, stressing is not something I seem very capable of. Although, at times I’m sure it would help get things done a bit swifter. The pile of books still appear to be somewhat within control as well! Anyway, such a beautiful day calls for another card posted!

A few weeks ago I had the sudden urge to colour the same stamped image several times. I have previously posted at least one of the cards I made during that spree of creativity that resulted from this image. Sarah Kay makes the most adorable images, doesn’t she? I am glad Stampavie offers these. This one is definitely one of my favourites. I like the rural feel of it.

Red. Lots of red. I had not really planned on the red overload, but it still happened. Thankfully I have papers and accessories to go with this colour. I settled on white for the complimenting colour. I made three framed backgrounds; the top with roses, the middle with hearts and the bottom with a plain pale pink with a floral ribbon. On the middle border I added a partially transparent ribbon and a large bow. The stamped image was put on a red bit of card also, and glued on with pillow stickers. The left and right side of it was framed with deep red roses and white flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. It helped add that rural, summer feeling.
