LLLC: B/W with a spot of colour

Friday again means it’s time for another La-La Land Crafts project. This time the theme is black and white with a spot of colour. I chose purple as I think it compliments the black and white quite nicely. I’ve mostly keep away from using loads of greys and gone with contrasts instead. I am really quite pleased how it turned out. You can find all the products listed at the bottom of the page along with the copic colours I’ve used.

Here is a close-up of the colouring.

Flamingo love

I was so inspired by the black and white theme at La La Land Crafts this week that I made another two! Technically I made this one first as I got a bit carried away, but I did them both the same day and had a lot of fun doing them.  This one has no stamps at all and no colouring. That doesn’t happen very often!

All the LLLC products will be listed at the bottom of this post.

Here you can see the pearls moved over to another side. It was quite fun making the shaker card. I think I’m getting a hang of them now!

Here is the sentiment with some of the pearls scattered in the shaker bit. I love how versatile the happy birthday sentiment die is and that I can use it for loads of different combinations. I printed out the word Anniversary to go with it for this card. If you don’t have it already, I’d say just get it. It’s perfect!

Guest designer at La La Land Crafts

So. Guess what?! I (somehow) scored a GDT spot at La-La Land Crafts! It came completely out of the blue (for me at least). And as you may see around here.. I’ve only made one card with a LLLC stamp so far and that is one I posted up just a few days ago, and I’ve not had a whole lot of their dies (which are actually really great and now I’m using them all the time!). How exciting, though! I’m very honoured they asked me, and certainly couldn’t say no. Many thanks for the opportunity! Here you will see my first card as a guest designer on their team. There will be a new one every Monday for three months.

And the theme? That was to be black and white! Oh well, may as well jump straight in and do all things I’ve only done once before at the same time, right?! And as I’ve ever made like two shaker cards ever.. why not add a shaker element?!

There will be links to all the LLLC products below the photos.

I actually ended up taking a photo of this card twice as the first one just looked like I’d desaturated the image. So I figured lime green raindrops scattered around would work to show that the card and all is definitely proper black and white!

I used the birthday die twice. Once in black and once in white so that it would stand out a bit more. Then I printed a shorter sentiment to go with it which I placed right above and to the left.

Here you can see the pearls in the shaker part of the card spread out with a closer look at the branches and die in the middle. For the shaker filler I used pearls.

Monochromatic

It is right in the middle of Easter and it is time for a new challenge over at Copic Marker Norge. This time around the theme may be a bit more challenging, it is monochromatic. I think it was fun, though, although I cannot recall if I have ever tried to colour in black and white before.. maybe once? hmm. The only problem I’ve had is when I’ve coloured it in, it’s hard to take a photo that will show all the nuances in the colouring, but hey can’t win them all..

The image I’ve used for this is by Make It Crafty. I’ve cropped the girl so it’s possible to see the details when coloured with only a few markers. I’ve used Copics, as always. The paper is from Papermania, sentiment from Lili of the Valley, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the punchers are Martha Stewart ones.

And a side on view.

Art deco card

Ah, Monday! I never thought I’d say that. I usually hate Mondays… Oh well, I’ve started preferring week days as of late. The past month or two, weekends haven’t exactly gone to plan. At least summer is around the corner. Hopefully things will soon be back to how they were. I have a lot of cards on request lately, so that should hopefully keep me busy for the next month.

The image is from Papermania, and the patterened background paper is by Paper Cellar. The feathers are also from Papermania, I believe, whereas the pearls are from The Hobby House. I have used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
