Baby boy in buggy

card250_1Time for another card that’s I’ve made for someone else, based on another card I have made. She was quite fond of a card I had made for another co-worker, for a baby. I suggested we add some blue and make it a bit more masculine, but we had to keep some of the purple as that is her favourite colour. I’m pleased with how I managed to keep it obvious it’s been inspired by the other card, but still make it quite different.

I used a pre-coloured topper by The Hobby House. Craftwork Cards have made the doily. The ribbon, lace and card stock is from a local shop. All the flowers are purchased at Wild Orchid Crafts as well as the big white pearls, and the punches I have used are by Martha Stewart. As you can see, my love of adding butterflies to everything is still quite strong, heh.

A card “remake”

A few weeks back I had a request for a card from a co-worker. She was rather specific in what she wanted. She had seen one of the cards I had put up on the blog previously and wanted something similar. On the right here you can see a small version of the card she picked out.

She wanted the same sort of colours, and the same image, if possible. I said I’d try to make it a bit more harmonious as I felt the other card could use some improvements. It was a fun challenge where I felt I was given the opportunity to improve a card I had made previously. Keeping it close to the original, but giving it a unique feel as I don’t like the idea of making the same thing twice!

The image is a pre-coloured one by Lili of the Valley, so that was easy to reuse. The green background is from a First Edition Paper pad. The ribbon, I believe, is from The Hobby House. I have used flowers and pearls from Wild Orchid Craft and a few Martha Stewart punchers to make the edge, the leaves and the butterfly.

Here you can see how I did the inside of the card. The text is in Norwegian.

I am really quite pleased with the “remake” of this card. I think it turned out quite well!

Flowers, flowers, flowers

Last weekend I went to Iceland and it was fantastic. It was a surprise hen do / bachelorette party for a friend of mine and she had no idea she was even going! No idea whatsoever. What a fun surprise! We went whale spotting (with a bonus of dolphins), rafting and after a night out we had some relaxing hours in the Blue Lagoon before heading back home. A busy, but highly enjoyable weekend!

Anyway, time for another card. I will spend a couple of hours tomorrow as well making more cards. This one is made with a pre-coloured image by Lili of the Valley. I have used ribbon from a local shop, a blank card template by Craftwork Cards, papers by Pion Design, a couple of Martha Stewart punchers, pearls by The Hobby House and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Summer flowers

A day off work! Now that is something I definitely need. Last weekend was spent colouring in several recently purchased digital stamps from Saturated Canary and Sylvia Zet. It has been quite some time since I last coloured something. I do love their images. Hopefully I have time to make some cards with them today or at the weekend at least. Perhaps I even have time to colour some more in!

Today’s card is made using a pre-coloured image by Lili of the Valley and flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts. The ribbon is from a local shop and as usual I cannot remember what make the papers are. Sorry!
