Distressed rainbow, and a dragon

Today I have a very colourful card to show you. I made the background using various distress oxide inks, mostly just to see if I could manage to make something like a rainbow. I thought it turned out pretty cool so I flicked some water onto it to get the right effect and decided to keep it and use it as a background for a card. The stamp I chose to go with it is from Wild Rose Studio, and it had been forever since I last coloured it so it was about time, right?!

I decided, as usual nowadays, to keep the card clean and simple, so I used some plain card stock in a deep orange colour to which I added a text stamp from My Favorite Things.

A bit of turquoise

We have a new challenge up at Copic Marker Norge and this is my inspirational card for it. On the moodboard for this month I was inspired by the colours: turquoise and white with a hint of yellow, as well the decorations and flowers. The image I chose for this is by Ching-Chou Kuik. I do love getting to make a card using my favourite colours!

I’ve used papers by Maja Design and Bazzill, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a stamp from Noor Design to create the effect around the image which I used distress oxide ink on, a Happy Birthday stamp from My Favorite Things, and a border die from La-La Land Crafts.

Here you can see the card from a side on view. There are several elements put on foam pads to create a sense of dimension.

Blue floral ballerina

A very special co-worker of mine had her 60th birthday quite recently, so I wanted to make her a special card. She loves blue, and knitting, so they were two of the things I wanted to include. I also wanted to colour up something fiddly as I knew she would appreciate it. The stamp I decided to use is one of my favourites at Aurora Wings. It’s so pretty! Everything is coloured up with Copics and then I stamped a Noor Design flourish in pale blue around the edges of the image.

The papers are by Papirdesign, the charm by (probably) Kort og Godt, the flowers by Live and Love Crafts as well as Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaf dies and the scalloped circle are both from La-La Land Crafts. As the final touches I added some cheese cloth, transparent water drops and candi which I coloured in a matching blue.

Here you can see the card viewed from the side.

Molly with birthday cake

It is the first Tuesday of the month today. That means it’s Tiddly Tuesday and a new challenge. This time around we’d like to see you make projects using the lovely character Molly! I decided to use Molly Celebrates for this.

You know what’s funny? Because I use very little flowers on Christmas cards and have been so fond of making clean and simple cards of late, I was really stuck when I decided to add flowers. Slightly baffled by this I just sat down on the sofa to read for a while, and then when I got back and played with it, it seemed to go somewhat already. It felt rather weird just staring at the flowers and wondering what to do with them, though! haha.

The papers I’ve used on this card are all from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I really do love this colour. I’ve, once again, painted the edges with white acrylic paint. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts (now closed), I coloured up some candi in matching purples and then used a sentiment by My Favourite Things (MFT Stamps) which I embossed with white.

Here is a close-up of the colouring. You can also see the die cut leaves, which are from a La-La Land Crafts die.

Copics used: (hair) E08, E18, E19, E49, E97, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (dress and shoes) BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, C0, C3, C5 (cake) V12, V15, V17, Y19, E08, C0, C3 + white gel pen

Flowers for mum

Today is the day we celebrate Mother’s Day in Norway, so of course I had to make a Mother’s Day card! I decided to try something a bit different yet again, and decided to use the stamped image as a border and crop off it. The beautiful flower stamp is from Power Poppy.

I used some textured card stock on the left side of the card with a couple of card candi and then I just printed a sentiment I made on the right side in the bottom corner. It is a very simple card and I quite like how it turned out!
