Molly with cake

The colour theme for the magazine was greens and yellows, so I decided, very last minute, to do a really bright, cheerful, green card! I used various papers to create a layered card. I wanted lots of layers as the other card I made was clean and simple.

I decided to use a Tiddly Inks stamps for this, Molly Celebrates seemed suitable for the occasion and she is coloured in with copics. I decided to both distress the edges and use frantage on top.

For the greeting I went with a printed out work onto one of the background papers and coloured up one of Make It Crafty‘s chipboards in colours matching the dress. To soften the edges a little I decided to paint all the edges with white acrylic paint. Then I added a ribbon and some sparkly green paper to make the card even more festive!

As a few photos of the card was required I will show them here. too!

This is a close-up of the greeting and chipboard. I used the same colours on the chipboard as I did on the dress. The same goes for the icandy.

Copics used: (hair) E53, E55, E57, E59, (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (dress) G03, G05, G09, G28, G40, YG00, (cake) RV00, RV02, V19, E08, G05, G28, (ground) W0, W1, W3, W5

Uptown girls with sparkly dresses

Yesterday was (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day. The Paper Crafting hosted an event for Scandinavian scrapbookers where they had three challenges. As I spent most of the day outside in the sunshine, I didn’t really have time to take part until 8pm, but I hurried and managed to make two cards before midnight. Phew!

It was a lot of fun. Both cards are quite different to what I’ve done before. The first one I will show today, and the other will be available on my blog soon as well. Here the challenge was to use four colours from light turquoise to a darker green, as well as a yellow. (Optionally you could be inspired by the photo, but I chose the colours).

I decided to use my Tim Holtz stencil and coloured it in with my Y13 Copic Marker. Then I got out a couple of Papirdesign stamps and stamped with two different Distress Oxide Inks onto the background before I used some Washi tape for the dark stripes. After wondering what on earth to use with what I’d just made, I finally remembered my new Stamping Bella stamp which I had yet to use. Perfect, I thought! I coloured it in with my Copics and made their dresses (and drinks) sparkly! The bottom sentiment belongs to that stamp. Lastly I printed out some text and coloured in a Make It Crafty “girl” chipboard in matching colours.

Copics used: (skin) E00, E02, E15, (red haired girl) E08, E18, E19, E97, W5, W9, BG15, BG23, BG57, BG49, Y13, Y19, (black haired girl) BV23, BV25, BV29, W5, W9, Y13, Y19, Y38, BG57, BG75, BG78 YG67, G99, (drinks) RV23, RV55, RV66, (ground) C0, C3, C5 + white gel pen

Card featured in Ett Trykk

Right around new year, when people were busy deciding on what resolutions to make and whether or not to keep them the following day, I decided on a half random impulse to submit two cards for a magazine! Yup, that’s right. It even made it into the magazine! So I have now proudly had one of my cards featured in Ett Trykk. Yey! Although I really don’t like the background they decided to add to it.. but at least here on my blog they will be without that background. Yey!

I’ve used Mo’s Digital Pencil‘s dandelion girl stamp called Make a Wish for this. I absolutely adore her! I think it is one of my favourite Mo stamps! The paper is from Paper Cellar and the sentiment stamp is by Norsk Stempelblad.

I had to submit a couple of extra photos, so why not add them here as well!

Here is a close-up of the coloured image, too.

LLLC – Just for You boy card

Guess what?! For the new release at La-La Land Crafts I’ve used a…. boy stamp! Yes, you read it right, I’ve finally made a boy card! I even freehand coloured up some bushes around him.

The new release is really great! I especially love this background stamp. It is called Just for You. You should see how many gingham backgrounds I have laying around now in all kinds of colours! It’s easy to use and simply makes a great background. I’ll be using it a lot from now on, for sure!
