Woodland princess

It has been quite a while, hasn’t it? In fact, the last card I put up was before summer hit. I knew it was going to be a busy summer, but I wasn’t quite prepared for what was to follow. I have been working a lot, and I have also been on a few trips as well as planning my next holiday. In two weeks time I’m heading off to Thailand for a friend’s wedding. I am so looking forward to that and we have a ton of stuff planned! I reckon I’ll need a holiday as soon as I get back home.. hehe.

We have been very fortunate this year. Not only have we had a beautiful and hot summer, but the autumn has been absolutely fantastic. At the time of writing this I almost feel guilty for not being outside in the brilliant sunshine enjoying the beauty autumn has to offer. It is so amazingly colourful, more than we usually get. I have posted a few photos of it on my instagram account. If you’d like to take a look, my username there is livefall.

Anyway, back to business! This is a card I did in fact make before summer. It is a confirmation card, as some of the others I posted before my unplanned break. I coloured in a Saturated Canary image, using Copic Markers, this time in greens. (The previous one I did was in yellow, and other I did which I have yet to post is in purple.) I used a Martha Stewart edge puncher to create a border and I used it to make a border around the main image as well. The brown leaves are also made with a Martha Stewart puncher. The papers are probably Inkido, although I could be wrong as it’s quite a while ago. The lovely ribbon is from The Hobby House. As always, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the little corner buttons are called card candy and can be found at Craftwork Cards.

Here comes summer!

Goodness me, why does late spring / early summer always fly past so fast! I’m pretty sure April was only just a few days ago. So much to do, but all good. I have barely had time to craft the past couple of months! Hopefully things will calm down a little, so I at least have time to make the few cards I have on request, plus the ones I’d like to give away myself!

Today I have another card for my Guest Designer spot over at Deep Ocean Challenges. The theme for these two weeks is here comes summer. Perfect challenge theme if you ask me! I’ve picked greens and blues as that well represents summer for me. Green grass and leaves everywhere and blue sky and water. I’ve spent a few summers in the countryside by a lake, hehe.

The pre-coloured image is from Lili of the Valley; the sentiment stamp is also from there. The papers are from stash I’ve had for a couple of years. QuicKutz dies and Martha Stewart punchers have been used as well as flowers and a bow from Wild Orchid Crafts. I really love those big brown daisy looking flowers! I’ve also used a little blue distress ink and some flatback pearls.

Gone fishing

I have been on holiday for over a week and got home yesterday. Tomorrow I leave for another couple of days. Once June hits things will get a little more back to normal, I hope. At least I should have more time for the blog than I have had the past couple of weeks! Summer is finally coming. I hope you all have a sunny day!

A boy card! It has been a while since I posted up any of those. This one I made for my uncle’s 70th birthday. The pre-coloured image is by Lili of the Valley. I remember the green paper being from First Edition Paper, but I cannot recall where the other is from. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the small buttons are card candi by Craftwork Cards. The branches are made using a Martha Stewart puncher.

One step, two step

It’s Monday again. That means it’s time for another challenge at Paper Playtime. This week we have the theme of more than one fold and I chose to make a stepper card.

The super cute image is another pre coloured image by The Hobby House, a Mo Manning one this time. The papers are from Papermania. The stepper card blank is from WhichCraft, I believe. I do not remember where the heart came from. The sentiment stamp, however, is by Lili of the Valley and as always I have used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lovely white ribbon is by The Ribbon Girl. I’ve made the leaves with a Martha Stewart puncher and used Tim Holtz distress ink on the heart.

You and I

I have an essay due tomorrow, so rather than write it I figured I would make a card! Inspiration generally comes flowing when you have other far more important stuff that needs to be done. It worked like a dream! This card took no time at all to make and I am quite pleased how it turned out.

The papers are from Papermania. When I was on holiday I was set on not purchasing anymore paper as I really do not need anymore of it. That plan lasted until I spotted this gorgeous paper pad! The adorable pre-coloured image is from The Hobby House. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts along with the lilac ribbon and bow. The lace is from a local, the sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley. I reckon the doily might also be Papermania, while the cute little buttons on the side are card candy from Craftwork Cards. The leaves are made using a Martha Stewart puncher.
