Have a gorilla good time

When I saw this week’s MFT Sketch challenge image I had an idea right away. 15 minutes later my card was done! I used a stamp I’d recently coloured up, matched it with two different shades of brown card stock and matching ink. All these items are from My Favorite Things. I simple Norwegian sentiment finished off the card.

This card has been entered into the following challenge:

MFT Sketch challenge #549

Lotv Let it snow

James Bear in the snow, of Lili of the Valley, is one of my all time favourite stamps and I colour it up several times each Christmas. This time I have made a CAS card with him on the side with white on white covering the rest of the panel. The die cut is by Mama Elephant and I’ve added semi-transparent sequins and white glittery embossing powder randomly over the whole panel covering everything. Bright red card stock frames the panel and matches his outfit.

Kid and Blue tit

I admit it, I had to google the name of the bird I tried to colour. I don’t know a lot of bird names in English. The last time I coloured up this Mo’s Digital Pencil image I opted for a robin, so I wanted something different and a blue tit fit the rest of my colouring quite well, I thought. The stamp is called Feed the Birds.

The background paper at the top is by Maja Design and the sentiment stamp is by Mama Elephant. The card stock is by MFT Stamps and so is at least one of two dies I used, possibly both.

Alex Syberia autumn harvest

Alex Syberia Design is out with a new release today and I’ve been lucky to be asked to guest design for it! For my first project I’ve made a slimline card using this harvest stamp. There is an Instagram Hop for this release today as well.

After I had coloured it all up, I finally came up with a layout I wanted to try. As much as I keep telling myself it’s only paper, it’s still a bit scary to just tear up the paper with your coloured image after you’re not only done with it, but really happy with it (especially that pumpkin)! Thankfully it didn’t only work, but I got it pretty much how I’d pictured it.

I used kraft cardstock for the base of the card and the paper that is peeking out from behind the coloured panel is from the latest Maja Design release. I’ve used a die and enamel dots from Altenew and then embossed an MFT Stamps sentiment on matching orange cardstock.

Copics used: YR24, YR27, E08, E18, E19, YG21, YG93, YG97, YG99, V22, V25, V28, BV23, BV25, BV29, R12, R43, R46, R37, R39, W0, W1, W3, W5, W7, YG21, G21, G94, G99

Lotv bears building snowman

Lili of the Valley is working on yet another new Christmas release and it’s a great one! I simply had to colour up one of the stamps right away, with these bears building a snowman! Even though there is loads of white, I opted for a no-lines version of the stamp. Blue is my favourite colour for Christmas cards, so I suppose it was a bit of an obvious choice, but hey! When it looks great, why pick something else, right? hehehe

The decorations are kept simple with just a cluster of die cut scrap paper, some die cut snowflakes, one of Lili of the Valley’s own sentiments as well as some enamel dots.

And this marks the end of August. I am pleased I managed to do a card a day. There’ll be quite a few cards the next few months too, I am sure. Tomorrow is September, and I don’t think I am quite ready for autumn yet.
