Summer is best at the beach

1st July.

Goodness… how fast the year is flying by!

Anyway, it is time for some midway inspiration at Copic Marker Norge.Β  Once again it is a moodboard challenge and I’ve been inspired by the summer and beach feeling along with the colours. The stamp I chose is by Saturated Canary and Krista Smith. The paper is by Maja Design and the chipboard is, as usual, by Make it Crafty.

Here is another photo of the card.

Copics used: (hair) BV20, BV23, BV25, BV29, (skin) E000, E00, E02, E13, E15, (swimsuit) BG15, BG49, BG57, BG78, (towel) V09, V12, V15, V17

Big hair and circular card

So, I found another use for my Silhouette Portrait 2, yey! Circular cards! I’ve been wanting to make them for a while, but haven’t gotten around to ordering dies big enough. Now I’ve made a file that makes sure it doesn’t cut through the top so the card can be opened, and it has a tiny bit at the bottom cut off too so that will stand firmly on the surface. I’m pretty pleased with both the size and shape of the base as well as the size of the circles inside.

I used a QuicKutz die by Lifestyle Crafts for the big scalloped circle and LaLa Land Crafts die for the smaller one which is framing the main image. The image with all that hair is by Krista Smith and Saturated Canary. I’ve had it for quite some time, but only got around to colouring it up for the 30 day colouring challenge. All the papers are by Maja Design which I’ve painted with acrylic paint as usual. I used cheese cloth and printed out a small sentiment to go with the Birthday die cut from LLLC. I absolutely love that text die, it’s so pretty! If you don’t have it already, you might find that you need it, just sayin’!

Here you can see the card from a side on view. As usual I’ve not decorated it inside. It stands pretty well and doesn’t slide or roll πŸ™‚

Copics used: (hair) E70, E74, E79, E49, BV00, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (pink) R39, R81, R83, R85, RV00, (green) YG01, YG13, YG67, (grey) W3, W5, W7, (purple on bottle) BV02, BV04

Beauty and the Beaker

I made this card for one of my co-worker’s birthday last year. The image is more than perfect because it even looks like her! I’ve coloured it all in with copics. The letters are made with a Noor Design die, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts. I’ve also used some Martha Stewart puncher. And the perfect image? That would be Saturated Canary. It is called Beauty and the Beaker, and I’ve cropped off about half as I really wanted it close up.

Frozen inspired

I admit it: I have scheduled up a few posts. I thought I’d grab hold of that mojo for blogging and use it while it lasted as it’s tended to only last an hour every few weeks as of late, heh.

This is a card I made in late November for a young girl. It is frozen inspired, as the colours may suggest, and as she is a December baby it seemed like a good idea with a winter theme. I used a Saturated Canary image and coloured it in with copics. I added sparkles to the wings and used both frantage and glitter around the various parts of the card. The border die is Tim Holtz, and the punches are by Martha Stewart. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

For my sister

This is the birthday card I made for my sister earlier this year. I let her have some requests as such and what she listed was aqua and pink colours, Victoria secret themed and bold.

I instantly regretted asking, but what could I do but try to make something along those lines. I decided on a cute fairy, by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary and coloured it in with copics, and added sparkles and liquid pearls to the wings. I have coloured a couple of images since which is an improvement, but I was quite happy with this when I did colour it in. Everything is a learning curve, right? (I really must get cracking on those colouring classes I bought soon after I coloured this image!) I punched out loads of butterflies using the Tim Holtz die in various aqua and pink papers and used rows of pearls to give them bodies. I used a deep pink, almost red to frame the various elements and punched out S and V, my sisters initials coincidently! I have used flowers and big pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts, the lace I believe I purchased at Bikuben and the ribbon may be the Hobby House.
