Foxy Marci

It is Monday again and that means it is time for another inspirational post for LLLC. The theme this time around is nature.

The image is coloured in with Copics. I used my favourite red hair combination for the fox face and her coat. I think that worked out rather well. Maybe it’s time I do start using it on something other than hair, haha. I’ve used various Bazzill and Maja Design papers for the card, printed a sentiment to go with the die cut word and coloured up two candi in matching blues to the dress.

All details and links on the La-La Land products will be found at the bottom of the post, after the photos.

The butterfly stands out from the card beautifully and I’ve decorated it with a string of pearls for the body.

Here is a close-up of the colouring.

Molly with birthday cake

It is the first Tuesday of the month today. That means it’s Tiddly Tuesday and a new challenge. This time around we’d like to see you make projects using the lovely character Molly! I decided to use Molly Celebrates for this.

You know what’s funny? Because I use very little flowers on Christmas cards and have been so fond of making clean and simple cards of late, I was really stuck when I decided to add flowers. Slightly baffled by this I just sat down on the sofa to read for a while, and then when I got back and played with it, it seemed to go somewhat already. It felt rather weird just staring at the flowers and wondering what to do with them, though! haha.

The papers I’ve used on this card are all from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I really do love this colour. I’ve, once again, painted the edges with white acrylic paint. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts (now closed), I coloured up some candi in matching purples and then used a sentiment by My Favourite Things (MFT Stamps) which I embossed with white.

Here is a close-up of the colouring. You can also see the die cut leaves, which are from a La-La Land Crafts die.

Copics used: (hair) E08, E18, E19, E49, E97, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (dress and shoes) BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, C0, C3, C5 (cake) V12, V15, V17, Y19, E08, C0, C3 + white gel pen

Winter Molli

So, remember I said yes to making two Christmas cards for each month this year? I’m actually still on track. I finished this card in the evening on the 28th February, hahaha! I love adding a snowy effect to the winter themed cards using the acrylic paint. Previously I used to love tearing on the edges, but this is far less dusty!

The stamp is by La La Land Crafts and is called Winter Molli, and so is the tree die. Other products are papers from Maja Design, acrylic paint, Memory Box snowflakes, Baker’s Twine, Kort og Godt charm and cheese cloth.

And the side on view of the card.

Copics used: (green) YG61, YG63, YG67, G40, G99, (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (hair) E41, E42, E43, E44, (brown) E71, E74, E77, (grey) C1, C3, C5

Big hair and circular card

So, I found another use for my Silhouette Portrait 2, yey! Circular cards! I’ve been wanting to make them for a while, but haven’t gotten around to ordering dies big enough. Now I’ve made a file that makes sure it doesn’t cut through the top so the card can be opened, and it has a tiny bit at the bottom cut off too so that will stand firmly on the surface. I’m pretty pleased with both the size and shape of the base as well as the size of the circles inside.

I used a QuicKutz die by Lifestyle Crafts for the big scalloped circle and LaLa Land Crafts die for the smaller one which is framing the main image. The image with all that hair is by Krista Smith and Saturated Canary. I’ve had it for quite some time, but only got around to colouring it up for the 30 day colouring challenge. All the papers are by Maja Design which I’ve painted with acrylic paint as usual. I used cheese cloth and printed out a small sentiment to go with the Birthday die cut from LLLC. I absolutely love that text die, it’s so pretty! If you don’t have it already, you might find that you need it, just sayin’!

Here you can see the card from a side on view. As usual I’ve not decorated it inside. It stands pretty well and doesn’t slide or roll 🙂

Copics used: (hair) E70, E74, E79, E49, BV00, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (pink) R39, R81, R83, R85, RV00, (green) YG01, YG13, YG67, (grey) W3, W5, W7, (purple on bottle) BV02, BV04

Beary sweet bookmark

It is no secret that I love to read. I don’t read a large amount of books a year or anything, but I do try to get through one or two a month. So far this year I have finished four. One, potentially bad, habit I have is to read several books at the same time. Generally they are very different kinds of books, and I prefer to have one in Norwegian and one in English at least. I am currently reading three. This means I require a few bookmarks, and as I couldn’t find two of them when I started on my most recent book I decided it was time to make the bookmark I’d said I would make to match the one I made for the kid in January. Obviously mine had to be in a blue/teal kind of colour!

I decided to use the same stamp, as I think she’d like that. It is Beary Sweet from Tiddly Inks and I’ve coloured it in with Copics before I cut it out by hand. I adore Wryn wearing her panda hat! The tag was made using Silhouette Portrait 2. (I really don’t like that machine, but I’m finally finding something where it is semi-useful and cuts where I want (ish!).) All the papers are from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I’ve used dies by Memory Box and candi by Craftwork Cards, and some random ribbon I had laying about which colour fit perfectly! I love it when that happens!

I decided to use another of the stamps in that set on the back side of the bookmark. It took a moment to find a quote I liked that I could have on the back as well, and I chose this one by C. S. Lewis. I absolutely loved watching Narnia every Easter and Christmas when I grew up. It was the old BBC series and it was worth getting up to watch it every morning for sure. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was my favourite, and as I still enjoy that story, I thought the quote was perfect! To make sure everybody knows that it’s my bookmark, I added a my name behind the quote.

Here you can see the front and back together in one photo.
