Flying magical dragon

I decided a bit last minute to enter in this week’s sketch challenge over at MFT Stamps. I’ve been inspired by Torico for this card. The sky is made with Distress Oxide Inks in the colours Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Seedless Preserves. The adorable dragon is from MFT’s Magical Dragons stamp set. It is rather impossible to fussy cut out the swirly part of the tail by hand so I opted to just cut it off entirely. The stamp is fiddly enough as it is to cut out, hahaha.

Copics used: V01, V12, V15, V17, V09, Y32, Y35, Y38, E97

MFT Superstar – Clean & Simple

Here is my second card for the annual Superstar Challenge at My Favorite Things. This time I’ve taken a massive leap out of my comfort zone and made a simple card without a coloured image. I spent some time carefully stamping up snowflakes in various sizes and colours and then I used only a small portion of what I’d stamped up for this card. I’ll probably use another part of the panel (and show you the other colour I stamped up at the same time) at a later date. But for now, let’s take a look at my entry in the Clean and Simple Genius category.

I have used one of the Stitched Rectangle dies for the panel and then the inner frame is cut out using the Inside and Out Stitched Rectangles. Merry is made using the Impact Alphabet dies and Christmas is from a die set called Merry Christmas. I decided to go for white on white with the bigger letters and then I used RV99 (Copic) to colour Christmas in a matching colour to the snowflakes.

I’ve used foam tape and vellum to raise the letters off the homemade background. I made the background using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set and stamped the snowflakes at random with 4 different shades of dusty pink and then embossed some white snowflakes on top. It’s a bit of an unusual colour for Christmas cards and snowflakes, but I think it works well, actually.

MFT Superstar coloring virtuoso

Apparently it’s that time of year again. The time when MFT Stamps are having their annual contest. So I spent some time masking and colouring and squinting trying to see where to colour the various bits. Here it is, my entry for the colouring part of the Superstar contest.

I have used five different stamp sets to make this. The girl, the cupcake stand and the biggest present is from the Sweet Birthday Wishes stamp set, the 3 smaller presents and the balloons are from Beary Special Birthday, the banner is from Up in the Air, the birds are from the Happy Hippos set and the clouds are from Scene Builder.

I’ve used one of the STAX rectangles for the panel itself, the cardstock is After Midnight and the embossed sentiment is off the Bitty Bears set.

Copics used: (skin) E00, E02, E13, E15, (hair) E08, E18, E19, E49, E97, (turquoise) BG11, BG15, BG18, BG78, (blue) B24, B26, B39, (pink) RV10, RV63, RV66, RV69, RV99, (yellow) Y32, Y35, Y38, YR27, (grey) C0, C1, C3, C5, (white) W0, W1, W3, (dark cupcake) E71, E74, E77, E79, (light cupcake) E41, E42, E43, (grass) YG13, YG17, YG67, YG99, (sky) BG10, B00, B01, B12

kraft Birthday dragon

When I saw the new sketch challenge over at MFT Stamps, I quickly knew that I had to make card using this little dragon. I coloured up the dragon last month using my Prismacolor pencils and I thought it would look cool having the kraft elements of the sketch on a white background. The sentiment is Norwegian and means “congratulations“. I figured bright pink would make it stand out well.

Birthday wishes (og nytt kurs)

This weekend I’ve been busy with loads of visitors, but still had time to prepare a little for the next colouring class I’ll be having in March. This time it’s all about glitter and Stamping Bella.
