PFS Congratulations

I have created a fun mixed media background for my first card for this new Picket Fence Studios (this and all following links are affiliate links) release that is out today. I started by using various colours on the Sweet Candy Hearts background stamp before inking up the Bricks and Mortar 6×8 stencil in a beige colour and then using the Gold coloured Paper Splatter Watercolor. Next I used the Quilting Hearts 6×8 stencil together with two shades of Paper Glaze Luxe, Arctic Fox and Pink Magnolia.

The stamp is Million Little Things which I coloured up with my Copics before die cutting it. The sentiment is from Surprise! It’s Your Day. To finish off I added some sequins from the Vintage Christmas mix.

Here is a close-up of the card:

It’s a party!

I do love a good mash-up card and this is one of them! I’ve combined loads of different brands to make this. Distress Oxide inks for the background before using an My Favorite Things background stamp for the text. I think sprinkled water on after to get it more uneven. After using a mini slimline die cut I used Picket Fence Studios paper glaze on a Pretty Pink Posh stencil for the banners. The cupcake is a digital stamp by Alex Syberia coloured in copics. It’s cut out and put on foam tape. An Altenew sentiment and die set is for the text stripe and the sequins are Little Things by Lucy.

PFS Tropical Cocktails

There is a new Picket Fence Studios release tomorrow. Are you ready for it? Today I want to show you want of my favourite dies from the past release, the Tropical Cocktail Shaker die, so you know to grab this one as well tomorrow, together with the new stuff. I’ve made one card with it as a shaker cocktail, and one using just the plain die.

First off I’ve cut out the glass loads of times and glued them together to make the shaker card. The Cosmo sequin mix was perfect for it. I then coloured up the little pieces with my Copics. The background behind is just a fun play around with various glaze. For the bottom layer I ran this rich, deep coloured card stock together with the Tree Bark 6×8 stencil through my die cut machine to get a lovely embossed look. The sentiment has used the same coloured card stock to match in with the sequin mix I used.

Here is a fun card using just the plain outline die. I’ve cut it out in different colours and glued them partially on top of each other. I’ve kept the card mostly white to make the die cuts and embellishments stand out, so the sentiment is kept neutral to go with. View the list of all the products at the end of the post.

PFS Rum Calling – new release

It is new release day at Picket Fence Studios (this and following links are affiliate links) and oh my is it a fun one! It has loads of fun drink dies to make shaker cards from and so many great sequin mixes! It was difficult to choose which ones to combine for sure! For my release day post I’m going to share my personal favourite of my cards for this release.

I have played with dies and glaze to create this fun and colourful card. I used three different glazes to create the background, Pink Magnolia Luxe, Aztec Sunflowers Luxe and Lime Zinnia. I then glued together loads of cut outs of the Martini Shaker die and used the Peach Bellini embellishment jar inside the shaker. To finish off I used the Make it Dirty stamp and coordinating die set.

Here is another photo, you can see that the glass is raised properly. I cut out several pieces to layer them, eight, I think!

Here is a list of all the products I used:

Martini Shaker die
Make it Dirty
Make it Dirty coordinating die set
Peach Bellini embellishment jar
Old: Paper Glaze Luxe Pink Magnolia
Old: Paper Glaze Lime Zinnia
Old: Paper Glaze Luxe Aztec Sunflowers

Look at the great glaze and pretty embellishments!

PFS New Release

There is a new Picket Fence Studios (this and following links are all affiliate links) release out today and guess what?! I’ve been playing with stencils, inks and paper glaze. So yeah, this is going to be a long post. You might as well grab a cuppa before scrolling through.

First up I have a simple card where I started off by using masking tape to leave a stripe on the side. First I ink blended with various pink oxides to create a gradient effect, and then I used the Pathways 6×6 stencil together with the Paper Glaze Luxe Pink Magnolia. I applied it with one of the tools from the Mixed Media Spatulas tools package and I love the effect.

I coloured up one of the stamps from the Animal Crackers Caring Friends stamp set and because I had a cup of tea in a cup with blue flowers on at the time I simply add to add that to this cup as well. Before popping on the card with foam tape I used one of the bigger sentiments from the same set and added it towards the bottom of the card. A few pretty sequins from the Vintage Bulbs sequin mix finished off the look this time.

You can see how the glaze is raised off the card base and that it is quite glittery.

Here you can see the great sparkle and shine in the glaze. Isn’t it pretty? I love it and I don’t even normally like adding sparkles to my cards! You can also see how beautiful the sequins are!

For card number two I’ve played with the new blue glaze called Paper Glaze Velvet Sapphire Macaw and the new Slim Line Flower Burst stencil. Isn’t it such a pretty stencil? I decided to use a diagonal stripe of the glazed stencil for this card together with another big sentiment, from the Watercolor Roses set, and loads of butterflies from the Baby Butterflies Beauties set. The hearts are from the new Birthday Hearts embellishment jar.

Here you can see the stencil and colour up close.

Why stop at two cards, right? Of course I had to make one with my usual “mash up” as well. I’ve used both of the above stencils, Slim Line Flower Burst and Pathways 6×6, for this together with two different distress oxide colours. I used a different stamp from the Animal Crackers Caring Friends set and popped it up on foam tape over a hello die cut, from the Double Stitched Layering Rectangle Dies set, which is like six die cuts glued together for dimension. I coloured up a small paper strip to match the green chair and finished off with a smaller stamped sentiment from the same Animal Crackers Caring Friends set and some sequins from Chicks in the Grass embellishment jar.

Here is a close-up of this card as well!
