OCC – day 1

I have, for the very first time this week, watched a cardmaking video! In fact I have now watched three. This past month I’ve been colouring daily and my days have been super busy so I decided to take some time out for myself and make some cards without coloured images. Online Cardmaking Classes, hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner, have a new course out called Crushing on Cardstock. As a late joiner with very limited time on my hands I have no goal of watching all the videos and trying all the various techniques before the initial period is up. I have however set myself a goal of 5 cards. Today I will show you the first three, they are all part of the first day of lessons.

First up I want to show you the card I made after watching Caly Person’s video. It’s all about paper weaving. I used three different turquoise coloured papers by MFT Stamps and made score lines in them for interest. I then used a Papirdesign die together with an embossed Mathia Design sentiment. Finally I added three butterflies made from La-La Land Crafts dies.

Next up is a card I made after watching Cathy Zielsky’s video. This one is about stripes. I’ve cut the stripes from five different MFT Stamps cardstock and as I don’t have the item she uses to line them up I’ve done it the old fashioned way by gluing them on with foam tape and hoping they line up nicely. It worked better than I feared when I started! The sentiment and enamel dots are by Altenew.

And the final one I have to show you is the first I made, after watching a cardmaking video for the first time. The video was by Kristina Werner. Here it’s all about making patterns with paper strips. I opted for a blue and grey combination using paper from MFT Stamps. The dies used are from La-La Land Crafts and MFT Stamps. The sentiment is made from chipboard which I coloured in to mix and a printed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

LH Reindeer Antler Dragon

I was asked to colour up a couple of images and make projects for Lee Holland and how could I possibly resist something as cute as this? I didn’t even try! My first project features the Reindeer Antler Christmas Dragon and I’ve opted for my favourite blues combined with green and brown. The images are quite fiddly too colour as they are so detailed, but they are definitely fun!

The sentiment is made with letters from an Altenew die set and parts of a larger word die by Papirdesign.

Through August (2021) Lee Holland is having a promotion of 30% off if you buy 3 or more stamps. Or if you fancy the entire Christmas Dragon bundle use the code CHRISTMAS60 to get 60% off!

LotV Winter Moonlight

I’ve finally got a bit more crafting time and I’ve spent the past week colouring up various images. However, Lili of the Valley is having a new Christmas and winter release today so of course I had to make a card with one of the new images! I’ve used the image Winter Moonlight for this project.

The background paper and “klem” part of the sentiment are from Papirdesign and the big letters are by Altenew. And of course the card is blue. It is my favourite for this kind of card after all!

Mo’s Bounty

My friend Elin has run off to the mountains for a much needed summer holiday, so to help bring some inspiration of the Mo Manning kind I am going to try (and fail) to fill her crafty shoes. First up is this adorable Bounty for a dash of summer. A yellow, happy card with a bold sentiment using an Altenew die cut (aff. link). The yellow background paper is by Papirdesign.

Milkshake bunny

For my sister’s birthday I’ve made two cards and they are completely different. The first of the two that I will show you is this fun one. I’ve combined products from loads of different companies again: Mama Elephant (stamp), Altenew (stencil and enamel dots), Distress Oxides, MFT Stamps (background stamp and bigger die), La-La Land Crafts (smaller die), Papirdesign (word die) and Mathia Design (embossed text).
