Krissy Christmas

Give me a W. Give me an O. Give me another O. What is that?! WOO! It’s Friday! Time to enjoy the weekend to the fullest. I plan to colour, catch up on TV series and just relax! Perfect!

Today we start a new anything goes challenge in the Art by Mi Ran Facebook group! The optional theme we are doing this month is “use a die cut”. I am glad it is not limited to just one though, or I would be stuck! Come along and play, won’t you?!

I decided to use Mi Ran’s super cute Krissy for my card, and of course I coloured her in with copics! I used various paper scraps which I painted with acrylic paint and I also used a snow pen by Rayher which, after ending up everywhere as the top flew off followed by its contents.., provided a nice texture. I used Martha Stewart punchers and the Noor Design tree die which I love! Apart from that I used a little card candy.

Wryn’s Leaves

It is time for a new challenge at Tiddly Inks! And as autumn is well on its way here and the leaves are turning all over the place and filling up the lawn, the challenge theme is quite appropriate! Fall colours!

I picked the awesome Wryn’s Leaves, which I coloured in with copics. It was quite fun to colour, although I made the actual drawn in leaves disappear somewhat..

What does an autumn card need? Leaves! Lots of leaves! So I went crazy with my Martha Stewart punchers and Noor Design dies and put leaves everywhere! All the layers are on foam stickers so that the leaves really are poking out everywhere! I used papers from Maja Design, Memory Box and Lili of the Valley and lots of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The swirly thing-a-ma-bobs are from Kort & Godt.

Let’s have a close up! It’s been a while since I did any of them.

Card making course with Tracy Payne

On Saturday afternoon I couldn’t shake the thought that there was something going on this weekend that I’d forgotten about. Suddenly it hit me: there is a big scrapping fair in the city, hosted by North Star Stamps, where Tracy Payne of Noor Design UK is visiting and doing courses. I’d forgotten all about it!! Oh no! I was gutted! I went to Tracy’s FB and typed a post along the lines of “Noooo, I forgot about your courses!!”. Then the sweetheart responded she had one spot left for Sunday. It was the class I had wanted the most as well! Did that make my weekend or what!! I am so happy. It is the first card making course I’ve ever attended, and I doubt it will be my last! The card on this post is what she had us making. Isn’t it the best?! I am so pleased I got to meet Tracy, she is such a lovely person!

A lot of the products is of course by Noor Design: the snowflake and mistletoe dies, the red tag, the stencils we used to cut out the window and card shape as well as the bricks, gesso and structure paste for the white elements. The papers we were provided with are by Pion, as is the adorable image. I honestly don’t know where the rest of the goodies are from, but it wouldn’t surprise me if you can get a hold of some of them at Live and Love Crafts!

And of course I made it home with a big grin on my face along with a few new goodies, including the wonderful window stencil and a few Noor Design dies!

One thing is for certain: this card is going up as one of my Christmas decorations!

Baby elephant’s first christmas

Oh! Christmas has been and gone, and so has the new years celebrations as well. I hope you all had a good, peaceful and creative couple of weeks, with of course far too much food and surrounded by family and friends. I guess I should get all my Christmas cards posted here. At this rate it will be summer before I know it.. heh.

This card is made with an adorable prec-coloured topper by Wild Rose Studio, leaves and snowflakes by Martha Stewart, lace, big pearl and flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts, some rhinestones, frantage for snow and distress ink.
