Green goth maiden

Finally weekend. My sinuses are none too happy so I suppose I will be spending most of the weekend with a bunged up head… Oh well, I guess I’ll get some crafting done, eh!

This card was made for a challenge at Kit and Clowder in their facebook group. You got this gorgeous free digital image by Ching-Chou Kuik and were to colour it in lilac and teal inspired tones. Look at all the butterflies it’s got! Yey! I think this is the first time I have ventured into the land of unusual hair colours. I coloured it all in with copics using mostly BG70s and BV0s for the teal and lilac shades. At the end I added some liquid pearls to the butterflies.

The papers are by Lili of the Valley and this pad fit the colours I used in the colouring perfectly. I have used a bunch of flowers and big pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts and made butterflies with some Noor Design dies. At the end I added a pearl row to give the butterflies a body, and gold glitter to the end of the wings so they tied in better with the ones I coloured in.

Wedding frogs

One of my friends got married in August and she absolutely loves greens and blues. The colour scheme for the wedding was white, obviously, and a dark teal shade.Β Her best-friend asked if I could make a card with a box for her to give away. It was to keep with the colour scheme, and if possible include a bride and groom FROG! WTF??!! Oh well, I had to give it a go… I also made a matching card and box from myself, and another matching card from a co-worker, as I thought it would be cool to have it as a set. I will post up the others in a few days!

I knew the exact shade of teal as I’d help pick some stuff, so all I had to do was match it up. She was borrowing my Martha Stewart puncher to make butterflies, so obviously I had to add a lot of butterflies to the card. I bought a pre-coloured digital image and printed it. I’ll update with where I bought it as soon as I get home from my holiday as I cannot remember here and now.. I used ribbon from a local shop. The lace and flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, as are the big pearls. The butterfly border has been made with a Tim Holtz die, and I have them all the dark green shadow and various colours for the wings and added rows of small pearls to create the body.

I used a pre-made box bought at Panduro and decorated it with the same colours, flowers, butterflies and pearls and wrote the name of the bride and groom.

Here is another photo of the card and box together.

I will link up various bits when I get home towards the end of the week.

For my sister

This is the birthday card I made for my sister earlier this year. I let her have some requests as such and what she listed was aqua and pink colours, Victoria secret themed and bold.

I instantly regretted asking, but what could I do but try to make something along those lines. I decided on a cute fairy, by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary and coloured it in with copics, and added sparkles and liquid pearls to the wings. I have coloured a couple of images since which is an improvement, but I was quite happy with this when I did colour it in. Everything is a learning curve, right? (I really must get cracking on those colouring classes I bought soon after I coloured this image!) I punched out loads of butterflies using the Tim Holtz die in various aqua and pink papers and used rows of pearls to give them bodies. I used a deep pink, almost red to frame the various elements and punched out S and V, my sisters initials coincidently! I have used flowers and big pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts, the lace I believe I purchased at Bikuben and the ribbon may be the Hobby House.

Red headed fairy

Time for another card where I coloured in the image myself. I have made a few more of these lately, compared to earlier in the year. I have yet to get cracking on Alyce’s wonderful colouring class, but the plan is to do some this weekend!

Anyway, the image I decided to colour is a Sylvia Zet Wee Stamps image. I figured I’d go out of my comfort zone and give her a completely different hair colour, so I chose red, as it’s reasonably close to normal, heh. I have used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, ribbon from a local shop, dies and punchers by Tom Holtz, QuicKutz and Martha Stewart, and the sentiment is by Kort og Godt. I have used paper from a Tim Holtz pad for both the pink and teal colours.
