Military theme

Earlier this month a mate turned the big three zero, so a card was non optional! I still haven’t got much option when it comes to stamps to use on cards for blokes, so the obvious choice was the pirate teddy bear from Lili of the Valley. It was a great challenge this card!

As usual the stamp was coloured with Copics, I even managed to use some of my new shades for this card, the greys and blues. The browns are my favourites, which will take a while longer to move away from; E42 and E44. A green distress ink was used around the edge.

I came across paper with fighting planes on last time I was lurking around a shop, and it fits this person perfectly I thought. It can be difficult making a card specifically for someone, but in this case it helped me. The colours were easy to pick out to go with the background and the rest just fell into place afterwards. I love it when that happens!

Inside the card I followed the theme from the front with the fighter plane background, green frame and light green distress ink for the greeting area. I used my new die cutter and alphabet to make 30 in a colour matching the distressed edge. The alphabet set is called Magnolia Grand Complete Alphabet set.

The pirate bear suddenly became very special to me two weeks ago, when a good mate, who chose it for me, passed away. It reminds me of him.
