Earth fairy

Mid winter, while waiting for spring to arrive, I decided to make an autumn looking card. Staring at the snow falling in various directions because of the wind, it was difficult getting into the autumny feeling. After battling myself for a while to get it done, here is the result.

Earth colours was a must, as was the black die cut frame with a white one inside. I had some problems deciding on a stamped image to use with it, until I remembered the papermania fairies I purchased in England a while ago. They were perfect! First I picked a sitting fairy, before I deciding to attempt masking and picked out some mushrooms and grass to go with. To finish it off I added some butterflies around it.

It was a great excuse to use some of my new copics! It was only the hair and skin I used my old copics on, the oranges and rosey colours were my new pens! I loved the colours and they were perfect for the card! At the end I distress some blue around the fairy to add a pale sky effect.

To finish it off I added black lace with a green ribbon decorated with shiny green stones. In the top corner I added a 3d butterfly, which were in the same colours as the butterflies I’d coloured on the image. Finally I punched a border at the bottom.

Inside I followed the design on the front. I used the grass, the mushroom and some butterflies stamps to decorate the greeting area. The background paper, greeting frame, lace and ribbon were made to match the front. I quite like how the greeting area turned out with the stamp mixing. I might try to do some more of that on future cards!

Appologies for the dull colours, I will take new photos to update the blog with next week!
