Konfirmasjon and DT call entry

I quite liked a birthday card I made recently, happy times, and wanted to utilise the same card blank for a ‘konfirmasjon’ card. This card is not due until September, so for once I am not making things last-minute! I had picked out which image I wanted to use long ago. One by Saturated Canary and the talented Krista Smith. Apart from that it had to be quite a feminine card.

As I was going through my papers, I came across this beautiful deep pink slightly patterned paper. I had purchased it for its other side and was quite pleased to find it was even prettier on the back! Conveniently it matched the plain dark pink paper I bought the other day quite perfectly. To break it up slightly I chose a creamy rosy paper to go with. These papers were the inspiration for the colours I decided to use on the dress. The R91, R93, R95 and R97 copics.

Before this card was completed I spotted a DT call for the summer months at the Saturated Canary Challenge blog, so that was probably one of the reasons I didn’t leave the card half done. The timing of it is quite perfect for me as I am not going on much of a holiday over the summer this year. Anyway, because of this DT call I have braved including a close up of parts of the image for the first time. I just have to say there are so many beautiful cards entered, but I figured that I certainly will not stand a chance if I don’t try.

Goodness me that looks huge, oh dear. Oh well, let’s see, where was I… Right, I never intended for the stamped image to be on the front of the card. I wanted her to get the full attention inside. On the front I decided to use a sentiment stamp from Kreativ Hobby which I coloured in and added lots of tiny pearls too. Goodness me, I never thought I would get done adding those tiny things! The ribbon is purchased at Bikuben and all the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I recently ordered the burgundy and plum coloured roses as well as the green flowers. So glad I bought them now, they are such pretty colours! Lastly I added the greeting area for the photo purposes. It is only attached temporarily at the top and that is why the bottom looks a bit wonky! I haven’t decided whether to handwrite or print the greeting yet, heh. I used the same patterned paper behind the greeting area as I did on the fold on the ‘back’ of the card.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:

Saturated Canary – Summer DT call (it feels like a challenge at least)
Wild Orchid Crafts Challenges – Anything goes
Bunny Zoe Crafts – Girls girls girls
