Superhero box card

So, I got a request to make something. A box card, for a young lad. Considering I hardly every make anything for boys, and never had made this type of box before, of course I had to say yes! Haha.

I followed a great tutorial by Jenny at LaLa Land Crafts. It was very easy to follow and my box looks just like it should!

The products I’ve used are two stamps by Tiddly Inks, My Batty Hero and My Super Boy. They have been coloured in with Copic and then cut out by hand. The stars are by Papirdesign, the Happy, cloud and scalloped circle dies are from La La Land Crafts. Let’s look at the box!

Here you can see the box directly from the front:

From the left side you can see how the images pop up. The boy’s first name has been left on the photos as per the recipient’s request.

And from the right side you can see the bit behind them quite well with the English birthday greeting and die:

Here is a close-up view of the bottom of the box:

See how nicely it folds down? That made it easy to send it by post!

Molly with birthday cake

It is the first Tuesday of the month today. That means it’s Tiddly Tuesday and a new challenge. This time around we’d like to see you make projects using the lovely character Molly! I decided to use Molly Celebrates for this.

You know what’s funny? Because I use very little flowers on Christmas cards and have been so fond of making clean and simple cards of late, I was really stuck when I decided to add flowers. Slightly baffled by this I just sat down on the sofa to read for a while, and then when I got back and played with it, it seemed to go somewhat already. It felt rather weird just staring at the flowers and wondering what to do with them, though! haha.

The papers I’ve used on this card are all from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I really do love this colour. I’ve, once again, painted the edges with white acrylic paint. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live and Love Crafts (now closed), I coloured up some candi in matching purples and then used a sentiment by My Favourite Things (MFT Stamps) which I embossed with white.

Here is a close-up of the colouring. You can also see the die cut leaves, which are from a La-La Land Crafts die.

Copics used: (hair) E08, E18, E19, E49, E97, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (dress and shoes) BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, C0, C3, C5 (cake) V12, V15, V17, Y19, E08, C0, C3 + white gel pen

Beary sweet bookmark

It is no secret that I love to read. I don’t read a large amount of books a year or anything, but I do try to get through one or two a month. So far this year I have finished four. One, potentially bad, habit I have is to read several books at the same time. Generally they are very different kinds of books, and I prefer to have one in Norwegian and one in English at least. I am currently reading three. This means I require a few bookmarks, and as I couldn’t find two of them when I started on my most recent book I decided it was time to make the bookmark I’d said I would make to match the one I made for the kid in January. Obviously mine had to be in a blue/teal kind of colour!

I decided to use the same stamp, as I think she’d like that. It is Beary Sweet from Tiddly Inks and I’ve coloured it in with Copics before I cut it out by hand. I adore Wryn wearing her panda hat! The tag was made using Silhouette Portrait 2. (I really don’t like that machine, but I’m finally finding something where it is semi-useful and cuts where I want (ish!).) All the papers are from Bazzill (plain) and Maja Design (patterned). I’ve used dies by Memory Box and candi by Craftwork Cards, and some random ribbon I had laying about which colour fit perfectly! I love it when that happens!

I decided to use another of the stamps in that set on the back side of the bookmark. It took a moment to find a quote I liked that I could have on the back as well, and I chose this one by C. S. Lewis. I absolutely loved watching Narnia every Easter and Christmas when I grew up. It was the old BBC series and it was worth getting up to watch it every morning for sure. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was my favourite, and as I still enjoy that story, I thought the quote was perfect! To make sure everybody knows that it’s my bookmark, I added a my name behind the quote.

Here you can see the front and back together in one photo.

Copics used: (skin) E000, E00, E04, E21, (hair) E41, E42, E43, E44, (dress) BG49, BG53, BG57, BG78, G00, (white) C1, C3, (black) C7, C9,

Wryn fairy

Did you see the new release over at Tiddly Inks? There are so many cute ones and they have even got a few brand new clear stamps! Yey!

One of my favourites from this new release is the little fairy! The image is called Magical Day. I decided to doodle a bit on this one and gave her a striped top so she looks a little like a bee fairy! I also embossed the wings with gold glitter and white after colouring them yellow to make them sparkle.

It’s not a big surprise anymore than this is yet another CAS card. I made the background with a Tim Holtz stencil, some distress oxide inks and gold embossing powder. The butterfly is also coloured with distress oxide and cut out with a Precious Marieke die. I printed the words “my friend” onto the card base and then embossed a Little Birdie text stamp in white.

Wryn with dandelion

There is a big new Tiddly Inks release today! New clear stamps, new digital stamps, new awesomeness! There is no secret I love me a bit of Tiddly Inks and I think I might have a new favourite! I thought I would show a card with her today, because she is super cute! She is called Wryn Wishes.

I did, as I have done a lot lately, decide to make a clean and simple card. CAS card are quickly turning out to be my new favourite, and they take no time to make at all! This one I did with a printed sentiment, a border stamp from Neat and Tangled which I used blue memento ink on, and a background paper from Lili of the Valley. The image is coloured in with Copics as usual.

Copics used: (hair) E70, E71, E74, E77, E79, (skin) E00, E02, E04, E13, E15, (pinks) R20, R22, (green) YG01, YG13, YG63, YG67, G99, (sky) B32, C1, (yellow) Y13, Y38, E97

I will be back with a new card tomorrow!
